The Target Pay Range for this position is $172,000 - $214,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training, and budget.
Job Summary:
The Director of Cybersecurity is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the Science & Diagnostics (SDx) division of Mars Petcare’s security strategy to protect digital assets, data and infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of security frameworks, risk management, compliance requirements and emerging threats. The ideal candidate will provide leadership while bringing technical expertise, collaborate with key stakeholders, and drive security initiatives to increase security posture and ensure SDx’s resilience against cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Governance:
Continue the development of SDx established cybersecurity strategy ensuring alignment with business objectives for the division and the Petcare segment.Provide governance and leadership across the multiple business units comprising the SDx division, addressing the challenges of diverse infrastructure and business requirements of each independent unit.Establish and maintain security policies aligned with Mars standards and frameworks to ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., laboratory compliance standards, NIST, GDPR, CCPA, etc.) in the unique challenges of the veterinary health laboratory environment.Collaborate with SDx senior leadership to integrate security into business operations, risk management, and digital transformation initiatives.Lead the Cybersecurity Team at SDx and coordinate with Mars Global Digital Operations teams in all areas including network security, threat and vulnerability, incident response and remediation efforts.Define, monitor and report on key metrics to assess program effectiveness.Risk Management & Compliance:
Coordinate with Mars Risk & Compliance teams to facilitate risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, compliance reviews or audits to identify and mitigate threats.Oversee all risk identification and remediation efforts within SDx to ensure that efforts meet security and business requirements.Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal obligations related to data protection, cybersecurity and privacy, in coordination with Mars Legal, Privacy and Compliance teams.Lead SDx efforts to cybersecurity incidents in coordination with Mars Incident Response teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption to critical laboratory functions.Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability analyses specific to laboratory systems, identifying potential threats to patient data, research results and operational continuity.Technology & Security Architecture:
Evaluate and implement security technologies and solutions, (including SIEM, EDR, IAM, DLP, Zero Trust) in coordination with Mars to enhance security posture.Partner with SDx, Petcare and Mars centralized teams to integrate security into on-premises, Cloud, DevOps and Infrastructure initiatives.Oversee implementation and adherence to Mars policies and coordinate with Mars teams for shared capabilities in all areas including Identity & Access Management, Threat & Vulnerability Management, Enterprise Network Services, among other.Remain up to date in emerging cyber threats and recommend appropriate defensive measures in coordination with Mars.Oversee the security architecture function to ensure adherence to standards and reference patterns.Team Leadership & Development:
Build and lead a high-performing cybersecurity team, including hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and professional development.Promote a cybersecurity awareness culture through training and education programs.Foster collaboration with Mars, general IT, legal, compliance, and business units to drive security initiatives.Qualifications & Experience:
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, CGEIT, CDSPE are highly preferred.Experience & Skills:
10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Deep expertise in security frameworks, risk management, and incident response.Strong understanding of cloud security (Azure, AWS and GCP) and modern security architectures (Zero Trust, SASE).Experience managing security teams, budgets, and enterprise-wide security programs. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment with cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, manufacturing, etc.) applying regulatory regulations and/or security frameworks.Hands -on knowledge of security tools (SIEM, EDR, XDR, IDS/IPS, etc.).Security Architecture experience and familiarity with secure software development practices (DevSecOps, Threat Modeling, DAST/SAST/SCA, etc.).Experience in a laboratory setting, veterinary clinics, healthcare or related systems.Experience communicating complex security concepts effectively (technical, non-technical and executive level audiences).Experience developing security strategies as well security programs.About Antech
