Shift Worked: M-F, 9a-5p with variables Weekly Hours: 37.5 FLSA Status: Exempt Pay range: 78,000 - 82,000 Director of Day Services Job Qualifications Required Education: Certified Special Ed Teacher, MS in Psychology or Social Work (per DOH requirements). Required Experience: Minimum 5 years supervision and administration experience. License: New York State Driver’s License and Agency Insurability. Job Description Summary Responsible for the overall operation of the Adult Day Services Programs including implementation of department policies and procedures and monitoring of staff performance. Shall assist in developing policies and procedures and effectively implementing them, and shall help to develop innovative programs both center and community, to meet the needs of people who experience disabilities. Ensure that quality of care is consistently maintained. Physical Expectations This position requires that employees are able to stand and or sit for prolonged periods of time. The employees must also be able to lift and transport consumers and perform all physical aspects of the job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: · Responsibility for the individuals overall well-being. · Oversee the management of each classroom and other programmatic environments, which include supervision of teachers and supervision of clinical support staff. · Provide assistance in classroom and other programmatic environments as needed. · Maintain equipment and supplies. · Attend in-services and specialized training programs as required. · Ensure active treatment is being achieved throughout the program by planning, directing and supervising the daily and long-term activities of the programs. · Ensure program development, implementation and monitoring occurs on an on-going basis for each participant. · Monitors the implementation of Agency generated policy and procedures for Adult Day Program and completes necessary documentation in order to insure compliance with State and Federal regulation. · Actively participate as a Transdisciplinary Team member. · Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with team members to include case coordination. · Coordinate and participate as an active member of the Adult Services Team including but not limited to the Day Treatment Program Team and the Day Habilitation Program Team, Structured Day Program and Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver Services. · Actively assist in program development within the Adult Day Service Department. · Inform Chief Operating Officer of Programs of evaluation and treatment issues. · Coordinate services with other providers of services. · Responsible to coordinate the screening process from the initial referral to the acceptance of any individual into the program. · Ensure cleanliness and safety of work environment. · Monitor that documentation and client files are maintained. · Conduct, monitor and evaluate fire and evacuation drills and provide and revise protective over site as needed. · Oversee composition of classes and individualized programs to ensure all participants are afforded the opportunity to reach their maximum level of achievement. · Coordinate staffing assignments to ensure both safety and that active treatment requirements are dynamically achieved. · Interviews and effectively recommend hire, for Day Program staff. · Provide on-going supervision as well as annual evaluations to Day Program staff and TBI Waiver Services (PBIS, CIC, ILST). · Insure and oversee and/or provide the scheduling of ongoing in-service training, staff meetings and supervisory meetings. · Coordinate the implementation of Systemic Program Evaluation on an on-going basis, and generate the annual report. · Meet administrative deadlines. · May be a member of Agency Standing Committee (i.e. Human Rights, Incident Review, etc.). · Oversee, supervise and maintain ledgers, cash journal, programmatic expenses and inventories. · Responsible for the supervising and approvals of all purchase requisitions, supply requisitions, check requests, position requisitions, maintenance requests, and monthly inventories. · Member of incident review process within the facility; assists in conducting investigations involving serous reportable incidents and allegations of abuse. · Evaluate staff and make effective recommendations. · Shall know and follow departmental policies and demonstrate legal and ethical conduct. · Shall demonstrate professional growth through continuing education. · Maintains contact with outside providers and state and local advocacy groups on issues relevant to individual’s programs and general well-being. · Establishes close working relationships with outside contacts, the DDSO and parent groups. · Monitor and maintain the regulatory requirements for programs under OPWDD and DOH. · Performs all other duties as assigned.
