We are currently recruiting for the position of Director of Distribution and Fleet Services based out of our Distribution Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Distribution and the Senior Director of Fleet Service, this position will be responsible for the maintenance and further development of systems, processes and procedures for the operation and management of the Distribution Center, Line-Haul and In Home Delivery Team, Human Resources, Equipment, and Inventory in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to promote and foster an environment that provides seamless integration and communication between the Distribution Center, Inventory Management, Corporate Departments, and Retail Locations.
Responsibilities Develop, administer and be accountable for the annual operating budget.Responsible for the management, growth, and success of over 350+ employees and a management team of 20+ managers and supervisors that report to you directly or indirectly.Implement and manage a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance levels are met or exceeded.Ensure that all talent management objectives are being met through performance management, talent reviews and development planning.Ensure that health and safety, material handling and security policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff.Manage relationships with key business partners including internal and external stakeholders.Ensure daily operations meet all government standards for safety, maintenance, transportation, and all other areas of compliance.Support quality control programs, strategies and initiatives that include auditing, compliance, and training requirements.Develop improvements to processes and procedures to maximize productivity, efficiency, and customer experience.Optimize and maintain all facility resources (staff, equipment, storage) Qualifications Minimum 10 years of management or supervisory experience in a Distribution or Logistics environmentExtensive experience (5+ years) with a large Warehouse Management System (WMS) in an inventory-controlled environment required.Previous experience with budgeting, forecasting, and reviewing financial statements.Proven Leadership SkillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsFully developed people skills and coaching skillsSuperior planning and organizational skillsStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsPractical knowledge of materials handling equipment and safe material handling techniquesKnowledge of Microsoft Office products Why The Brick?
