Join us as a Director of Emergency and Critical Care (DECC) at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center and you’ll quickly discover that you’re well supported by world-class medicine, technology, facilities and a talented team. You’ll be empowered to do your best work with a team you can count on. At VCA, the future of veterinary medicine is in our hands.
Why join the team
Join our fast paced, 24-hour emergency department in beautiful Fishers
Join our current team of 11 full-time emergency doctors and hospitalists
This is an outstanding opportunity to lead the services of an established emergency and critical care team, while being allowed to continue practicing medicine as an Emergency DVM.
You would report through our Medical Director and be supported by specialists in Internal Medicine, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Nutrition, Ophthalmology, Surgery (orthopedic & soft tissue), and Physical Rehabilitation.
The DECC under the direction and collaboration with the hospital leadership team, is responsible for establishing the medical quality and patient care practiced by all emergency doctors and hospitalists working at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center.
You would achieve this through strong leadership and serving as a mentor and role model for the associate veterinarians and staff.
The candidate should demonstrate a strong work ethic, integrity, and a consistent positive attitude.
The DECC is also an integral part of the hospital management team responsible for the overall service provided to our clientele and the financial performance of the emergency department.
Our 30,000 sq. ft. facility is fully equipped with a 1.5 Tesla MRI, 64-Slice CT, linear accelerator, fluoroscopy, two digital radiology rooms, two GE ultrasound units, full endoscopy equipment, and a neurological electro diagnostic machine—along with a full rehabilitation service with two underwater treadmills. The hospital has 16 exam rooms and dedicated treatment areas for each department.
The region has several blue-ribbon schools, plus a thriving performing arts area. For your recreational needs there is the Monon Trail, which runs for 15 miles from Hamilton County into Indianapolis. The Colts are still the heart of the city along with our other professional sports teams: Pacers and Fever for basketball, Indy Fuel for hockey, Indy 11 for soccer, and Indianapolis Indians for baseball. Both Fishers and Carmel in Hamilton County are ranked among the Best Places To Live by CNN Money Magazine and Forbes Magazine.
