POSITION PURPOSE:
The Director of Engineering oversees all activities within the department, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the entire resort facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs also responsible for the infrastructure of the technology making sure it all works.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conducts walk-throughs to visually and physically assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure of the resort, all mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C. systems, and any other related equipment.
Assigns and verifies completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back of the house spaces and grounds. Assigns and verifies completion of all repairs, replacement, renovation projects to public and back of house areas.
Hires, trains, supervises, allocates personnel. Communicates departmental and individual job goals with criteria's of job performance, appraises, and if necessary disciplines department associate and all other associate under the direction of Property Operations, such as Painters, Carpenters, Plumbers, Upholsterers and Grounds Keepers, etc.
Informs Managing Director and resort department heads, on a regular basis regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s), related systems and equipment offering prudent and cost-effective proposals for maintaining the same. Accesses and inputs information into a computer and generate reports.
Adheres to all required budgets, purchasing policies and controls, to include all outside contractor bids, and schedules.
Maintains and documents effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent required
4-year college degree preferred
EXPERIENCE
Minimum five years of experience in engineering management position. Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays on occasion.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Any licenses or permits that may be required by law or company regulations, such as an Electrician's license. In-depth knowledge of all disciplines within property operations including all technical trades (Engineers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Laborers, Maintenance Warehouse, Gardeners, Drivers, etc.)
