Director of Engineering

A Director of Engineering will manage the Engineering Team to efficiently maintain all hotel operations such that safety, security, conversation, and compliance are ensured at the highest levels.

What will I be doing?

\n

This position reports to the Hotel Manager.

The Director of Engineering is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the engineering division. The Director will assume administrative, financial, and operating aspects of Hilton Bomonti Hotel as they relate to engineering.

\n

·         Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets in a safe and acceptable state of repair.

\n

·         Ensure the hotel is in compliance with all local laws relevant with Engineering.

\n

·         Supervise and train all Engineering staff; comprising 38 (FTE) Employees; in Customer Service, Standard Operating and Maintenance Procedures

\n

·         Create and post all Engineering staffs schedules.

\n

·         Prepare and manage annual R&M and FF&E Budgets approved by management.

\n

·         Create and implement preventative maintenance program for all hotel equipment.

\n

·         Ensure all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per Hilton Hotel standards.

\n

·         Actively participate in energy conservation and optimization programs.

\n

·         Review all guest and meeting planner comment cards to ensure problems are identified and corrected in a timely manner.

\n

·         Assist with the administration of all vendor contracts and subcontractors controlled by the engineering department.

\n

·         Ensure that room maintenance requests are handled in a prompt and courteous manner.

\n

·         Assist as necessary with special projects and renovations.

\n

·         Actively coordinate main building/infrastructural issues and collaborate with Owner Representative for raising proper solutions on day to day operation.

·         Participate in Hilton Hotel Safety Committee.

\n\nAt least 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or a related field;\nAdvanced knowledge of building management/engineering\nUniversity BS degree in Engineering or similar fields\nHVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.\nMust be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.\nMust be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.\nMust be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.\nAttend all hotel required meetings and trainings.\nMaintain regular attendance in compliance with Hilton Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.\nComply with Hilton Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.\nMaximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions via implementing protective maintenance program.\nMust be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.\nMust be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.\nMust be able to maintain confidentiality of information.\nPerform other duties as requested by management.\n\n
