This position typically reports to the Vice President of Sustainment and is responsible for planning and directing the personnel and logistics support of Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Performance Based Logistics (PBL) and Company Owned, Company Operated (COCO) contracts worldwide. Directs a team of logistics and operations experts who coordinate between the P&L, engineering, other functional departments, ITC, and our suppliers and affiliates to ensure effective, safe, and efficient operations of GA-ASI manufactured aircraft systems globally. Responsible for ensuring compliance with government regulations when applicable and for establishing standards if not directly covered by government oversight.
The Director of Field Operations, oversees the sustainment phases of multiple fielded programs. Leverages products, components or systems currently being developed into future growth opportunities. Works closely with Engineering to deliver technical data requirements to the field and emergency support during and after ground and airborne anomalies. Applies advanced technologies, principles, theories, and concepts across program requirements. Informs and advises the P&L on sustainment contract proposal support. Typically accomplishes objectives through subordinate management. Responsible for programs that represent a key factor in the company's strategic business objectives where erroneous decisions could affect the financial position and reputation of the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIESOversee the sustainment phase of the programs, including operational planning and sustainment support and managing technical performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are attained.Develop and manage program plans or delivery methods, some of which may be unprecedented, across distinctive products while serving multiple customers.Consult with executive management to develop and implement current, annual and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the program(s) and participate in the development of Group/Company objectives with a long-range forecast.Influence the decisions of senior leaders both within and outside the company on matters of high significance. Represent the organization in relations with customers, and business and non-business communities. Act as primary spokesperson on program issues.Direct and influence the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract(s). Influence contract acquisitions, negotiations and modifications.Ensure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by overseeing the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required management, professional, and technical talent.Identify program issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying contract specifications.Direct the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities. Participate with Group management in pursuing business partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance the capabilities of the Group/Company and which may result in new products, programs and business opportunities.Oversee the development of and ensure the security of proprietary technology, and maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.Direct and implement business monitoring systems to ensure continued oversight of existing operations.Other duties as assigned or required.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
