Description
We are offering an opportunity for a Director of Finance to join our team in the Non-Profit sector based in Lansing, Michigan. As a Director of Finance, your main role will be to manage and oversee our financial operations, ensuring that our organization is financially sound and efficient.
Responsibilities include:
• Overseeing all accounting functions including but not limited to accounts payable and auditing
• Managing the preparation of annual budgets and reviewing budget proposals
• Implementing and maintaining accounting software systems to process financial transactions
• Coordinating the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
• Developing and implementing budget processes to enhance efficiency and productivity
• Managing the organization's cash flow and forecasting
• Working with the management team to shape the organization's overall strategy and direction
• Evaluating and managing risk
• Ensuring all reporting is compliant with statutory law and financial regulations.

Requirements
• Proficiency in managing all accounting functions including, but not limited to, accounts payable, annual budgets, auditing, and budget processes.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing consolidated financial statements.
• Familiarity with the Intacct accounting software.
• Strong leadership skills to direct and oversee the finance department.
• Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's goals.
• Extensive knowledge of non-profit finance regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively present financial information to stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and provide insights.
• Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Significant experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within a non-profit organization.
