DescriptionTo provide timely and accurate information and work together with the executive team in order for the hotel to run profitably and within the legal and corporate guidelines to maximize the use of the resources available and maintain a control over revenues and costs and help ensure that the hotel objectives are met.
The job of the Director of Finance is executed satisfactorily when:
● All local and corporate guidelines and deadlines are met.
● High forecast accuracy is achieved consistently.
● Senior Management is provided with timely and accurate financial information.
● Hotel fully operates under the terms of the Management Agreement.
● Insurances are up to date and in compliance with local and corporate regulations.

The Director of Finance fulfills their role as a Talent Development Ambassador when:
● They actively support and implement Talent Development initiatives as a part of their daily activities.
● They identify Training talents in their department and throughout the hotels as per below definition* and actively support their career development.
● They support and initiate transfer, cross exposure and task force assignments for their team.
● They personally conduct TTTTs with their team on a regular basis and take personal interest for their talents’ development plans.
● They recruit and select potential talent according to the Company’s current and future hotel, regional and worldwide needs including conducting interviews for positions in their department and their region.
*A Hotel Talent is an employee, who has the ability to do the current job in their hotel and can be promoted to the next level. Mobility is what makes this person a Kempinski Talent.

Key Responsibilities● Responsible for following and understanding all Kempinski Policies & Procedures.
● Responsible for behaving in a professional and harmonious manner and following the Kempinski code of conduct.
● Responsible for understanding and following the terms of the Management Agreement.
● Responsible for supporting, mentoring and developing the finance staff.
● Responsible for supporting and encouraging training of all staff in financial matters.
● Responsible for developing the annual business plan together with the General Manager and Executive Committee.
● Responsible for conducting monthly P&L meetings.
● Responsible for monitoring and controlling all revenues and expenses and making the corresponding recommendations when needed.
● Responsible for reviewing the cash position of the hotel in order to optimize the use of funds.
● Responsible for preparing and submitting the quarterly self assessment report.
● Responsible for preparing and submitting an accurate monthly forecast.
● Responsible for reviewing and signing the Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly.
● Responsible for ensuring the preparation of the accurate and timely monthly financial report.
● Responsible for being the contact for the auditors and act upon recommendations in the audit report.
● Responsible for continuously searching for new business opportunities to benefit the hotel.
● Responsible for the control environment within the hotel.
● Responsible for keeping and safeguarding all contracts, lease agreements, licenses, insurance policies and all legal and financial documents.
● Responsible for maintaining good relationships with the hotel owners/representatives as well as external partners.
● Partnering and collaborating with the finance and leadership team, to provide strategic leadership and functional guidance for the residential property.
● Developing and managing relationships and communication with ROA (Residence Owners Association) board members and fulfill ROA governance requirements.
● Providing accurate and complete financial and management reports on a timely basis to hotel management, corporate office, and ROA in accordance with the company and ownership (ROA) reporting requirements and policy.
● Managing the financial affairs of the ROA in compliance with governing documents and management agreements.
● Managing the financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process.
● Has a fiduciary responsibility to Kempinski and the ROA for ensuring the hotel is reporting in compliance with the policies, the Uniform Chart of Accounts, ROA documents, and hotel management or other contractual arrangements with respect to accounting matters.
● Responsible for communicating with the General Manager on any discrepancies or other potential problems.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise\nEDUCATION: BA/BSc in finance, accounting or related field or CPA/ACA/ACCA or MBA (Financial)
EXPERIENCE: To fill the position, the following is required:
• 2+ years as financial controller, preferably with a 5* Hotel chain
LANGUAGE: Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment:
• English – excellent oral and written skills
• Additional and Local language - beneficial
COMPETENCIES:
• Ability to work independently, thrive under pressure and/or challenging circumstances and come up with proactive, rational solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with hotel staff and clients/vendors
• Ability to identify and delegate tasks effectively
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Applies a professional, confidential and ethical approach at all times
• Works in a safe, prudent and organized manner
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
Computer literacy adapted to the field of training:
• Ability to operate computer and office equipment
• Strong affinity for Information Technology
• Proficiency in Excel and Word
• Experience in respective accounting software is a plus
• Knowledge of the generally accepted accounting principles, PCI DSS and local regulations and taxation
• In-depth knowledge of modern and complex principles and practices of hotel accounting and operations
• Experience in reporting, forecasting and budgeting
