Description
We are in search of a Director of Finance to join our team based in New York City. In this role, you will supervise all daily operations of the Accounting Department, manage the accounting team effectively, and collaborate across departments to streamline financial processes. This position also involves assisting with the implementation of a new ERP system and ensuring full compliance with GAAP and audit requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring open lines of communication with all levels of management and external clients
• Manage the accounting team and foster a culture of continuous quality improvement
• Assist with the implementation of a new ERP system, including staff training and development
• Regularly review financial processes and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory, and external audit requirements
• Foster personal growth and development within the organization
• Understand and utilize NetSuite applications to analyze complex financial data and business performance metrics
• Prepare and present executive briefings to senior management, including financial performance, opportunities for improvement, strategic business metrics, market trends, and risk mitigation strategies
• Collaborate across departments to integrate technology, process management, and interdepartmental collaboration
• Streamline the recording of client sales transactions and standardize operating procedures across relevant internal teams, including Sales, Order to Cash, Billing, FP& A, GL, Collections, and Cash Management.
Requirements • Must possess expert knowledge in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrated experience in creating and managing an Annual Budget
• Proven track record in Auditing, ensuring financial compliance and accuracy
• Proficiency in Budget Processes, capable of developing and implementing financial strategies
• Familiarity with NetSuite, able to use the software for financial management
• Capable of effectively managing Month End Close procedures
• Solid understanding of US GAAP, able to apply principles in financial reporting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required
• Experience in a Big 4 Accounting Firm is desirable
• Knowledge of ASC 606, able to implement its standards in revenue recognition
