Director of Finance and Administration
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Position Summary: The Director of Finance and Administration will act as a strategic partner to the CFO, supporting the financial, administrative, and operational management of our $43 million nonprofit human services organization. This role requires a hands-on, tech-savvy leader with strong project management expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Financial Management:
+ Prepare and analyze financial reports to guide decision-making and support the CFO in planning and forecasting.
+ Work closely with the CFO and Controller to develop the budget and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational goals.
+ Perform financial analyses to support grant requests, projects, expansion possibilities, and other initiatives.
+ Utilize technology to automate and streamline budgeting and FP&A processes, improving accuracy and efficiency.
+ Administrative Leadership: Manage a range of administrative functions that support our programs across the agency such as vehicles, real estate management and contract administration.
+ Facilities Team Member:
+ Establish a long-term capital and maintenance plan.
+ Coordinate capital projects.
+ Maintain a strong network of contractors and vendors.
+ Ensure all projects get competitive quotes per company policies.
+ Coordinate with program staff as appropriate.
+ Project Management & Technology Optimization:
+ Lead cross-functional projects to improve financial, administrative, and operational processes.
+ Facilitate the organization’s efforts to make better use of technology, focusing on Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, collaborating with consultants as needed.
+ Work closely with the IT department to ensure systems are effectively integrated and optimized for operational efficiency.
+ Identify and implement technology-driven solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
+ 7+ years of experience in finance and administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, and experience managing direct reports.
+ Strong project management skills, with a proven track record.
+ Knowledge of nonprofit and/or human services financial management.
+ Proficiency with technology and systems, particularly Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Teams/SharePoint, and ERP systems (experience with Acumatica a plus). Proven success in driving technology adoption.
+ Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
