Director of Financial Analysis and Business Insights


Overview:

The Director of Financial Analysis & Business Insights is responsible for budgeting and forecasting; and reporting, analysis and modeling of material business performance enterprise-wide. This role will play a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making across our portfolio of hotels. This position involves analyzing complex data sets, creating comprehensive reports, and developing dashboards that will drive operational efficiency, enhance guest satisfaction, and optimize financial performance.  



Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Coordinate with all levels of management to prepare financial plans, operating forecasts, and quantify the business strategies.

• Analyze and interpret financial data to help identify ways to support strategic initiatives, increase effectiveness, find expense savings, and improve asset utilization; this will include the development and production of recurring reports as well as ad hoc reports that are requested by Senior Management.

• Champion continuous and measurable improvement in the Company’s financial and operational processes and practices.

• Identifies and communicates potential risks to the Senior Management for further analysis, observation and/or remediation.

• Oversee development of regular reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy rates, RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room), ADR (Average Daily Rate), and guest satisfaction scores.

• Tests and validate reporting results to ensure data accuracy.

• Assess and resolve data and reporting issues such as inaccuracies.

• Supervise and develop Sr. Financial Analyst and Power BI Developer, who will create, design and prepare many of the reports required by Senior Management.


Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field (four year college or university) required

 

Experience:

• 5+ years recent proven financial analysis & reporting experience. 

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Knowledge of financial analysis, modeling, systems and reports.   

• Possess an excellent analytical, strategic and financial acumen; with the ability to anticipate issues and aggressively drive initiatives to achieve results. 

• Strong management, interpersonal, analytical, project management, presentation and verbal and written communication skills.

• Must possess a mix of integrative thinking, technical skills and leadership presence, development skills and 2 to 5 years of recent team leadership experience.
