About the Role:
The Director of Financial Reporting will play a critical role overseeing financial reporting and technical accounting requirements of Ouro. This position requires a critical thinker with a deep understanding of GAAP accounting concepts and a track record of process improvements in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Director of Financial Reporting will collaborate closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Oversee the preparation of financial reporting to meet both internal and external compliance requirements
Responsible for documenting and implementing authoritative accounting guidance
Lead and direct the monthly close process including review of general ledger account reconciliations to ensure financial reporting accuracy
Promote process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce days to close
Coordinate the preparation of materials necessary to complete the company’s annual financial statement audit as well as regulatory audits and related requirements
Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing guidance and mentorship
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance organization, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
10+ years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in the financial technology industry or related sectors.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a diverse team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Deep understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Experience working with financial technology platforms, systems, and tools is a plus
