Director of Financial Reporting - Onsite

The Director - Financial Reporting ensures that all regulatory, legal, and public financial reporting requirements are met, timely and accurately, and financial statements comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will apply business and accounting knowledge to perform SEC financial reporting as well as preparation or review of monthly, quarterly, and annual subsidiary financial statements. Will supervise the senior analysts within the group and will be responsible for hiring, evaluating, and participating in the professional growth of subordinate staff. The position is expected to demonstrate a commitment to integrity and ethical values and to ensure strong internal controls over financial reporting. Assists external auditors as needed.

Principal Duties

Support the financial statement and footnote preparation for 10-Q quarterly reporting, 10-K annual reporting, and various annual standalone financial statementsPrepare or review monthly/quarterly/annual subsidiary financial statements.Coordinate and perform regulatory reporting, including:Support the preparation of quarterly MBFRF and NMLS filings. Review and distribute monthly net worth and liquidity calculations for all Government Sponsored Agencies, Government agencies, and state level calculations.Maintain reporting models, coordinate the gathering of statistical data, and file the reports.Support the annual financial statement agency filings.Provide ad-hoc reporting for state level compliance exams and filings.Prepare/review complex schedules, including cash flow statementsDevelop and maintain comprehensive work papers supporting external financial reporting.Review, maintain and recommend improvements regarding policies and procedures in the financial reporting department in order to maximize efficiency and internal and external customer service.Assist with information request from external auditors during quarter and year-end financial reporting processes.Assist in developing/maintaining adequate Sarbanes Oxley compliance process as it relates to required financial controls/disclosures.Supervise, train, develop and motivate a highly competent, technically skilled, operations and customer service oriented financial team.Participate in and/or lead various functional, cross-functional, or enterprise-wide, projects and initiatives.Any other job responsibilities requested by management.

Education and Experience Requirements  

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.CPA preferred.8+ years financial reporting experience for a public company or external audit experience with a focus on public clients.Experience in mortgage industry a plus

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements  

Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.Must be highly skilled in the use of Excel Spreadsheets.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Detail oriented
