DATTCO is searching for a Director of Fleet Maintenance for our Coach and Tour Group. This position is responsible for managing DATTCO’s multiple location maintenance departments with strategic planning, organizing and directing. It works in conjunction with the Coach & Tour administrative team and field locations to ensure compliance with all maintenance procedures, regulatory requirements and directives. The Director ensures that all locations meet, or exceed, internal and external customer satisfaction by providing safe, clean and dependable vehicles. This role provides effective communication and leadership to all levels within the department in maintaining the highest of customer service and safety standards.

FLEET PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT Develops, monitors and manages a rigorous and comprehensive preventative maintenance program that address the diverse vehicle and service types of the operation. Track and monitor prevailing trends in fleet performance/utilization and develop corrective action plans to address any deficiencies. Track and monitor all related warranty, recall and design specifications for the vehicle fleet. Identify need and implement campaigns to address defect trends or seasonal needs in lieu of inclusion in formal PM schedules. Ensures knowledge of and adherence with all technical service bulletins issued by vehicle and/or component manufacturers. PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT Meets with direct reports one-on-one. Holds weekly staff meetings with all department managers. Provides direct reports with regular and timely feedback. Motivates department teamwork and resolves conflicts between departments. Performs annual reviews of all direct reports. f. Ensures parts and technician training plans are developed and adhered to by staff. FINANCIAL RESULTS MANAGEMENT Mentors key staff members on financial results with emphasis on profitability and controlling costs. Approves all purchases and expenditures. Implements cost control strategies and negotiates prices with vendors. Assists in developing budgets. Calculates and directs effort to stabilize and/or improve cost per mile valuations. Establishes and monitors KPI’s. Provides recommendations and assist in the purchase of new vehicles and disposition of surplus and obsolete vehicles and parts. SAFETY MANAGEMENT Is knowledgeable of all company, FMCSA, CTDOT, DMV, NHTSA, EPA, OSHA, ADA and all other safety regulatory mandates. Ensures that all safety policies are followed. Emphasizes and encourages safety throughout DATTCO’s operation. Establishes and maintains a model housekeeping environment with a goal of a 100% accident free workplace. Ensures that all fleet vehicles meet or exceed all applicable safety requirements. ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT Works with senior management team to identify opportunities to improve company’s effectiveness and performance. Reviews and develops internal department processes in areas of staffing and accident/injury reduction. Maintains a high-level employee satisfaction level. CUSTOMER & INDUSTRY RELATIONS Ensures positive customer relations in all departments. Establishes a proper course of action to prevent dissatisfied internal and external customers. Periodically participates in customer meetings. Participates in industry meetings and conferences. Establishes and maintains a high-level, positive relationship with vendors. Keeps updated on industry best practices, manufacturer service bulletins and other recommendations. CORPORATE CULTURE MANAGEMENT Communicates company values, beliefs and norms to employees on an ongoing basis. Serves as a role model for company values. Holds direct reports accountable for serving as role models for corporate culture.Position Requirements:
10+ years of experience managing a multiple location maintenance department in the motorcoach or trucking industries. Must possess a strong technical knowledge in a diversified fleet. Ability to lead a diverse organization.
