Under the general supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Academic & Career, the Director of Football Academics will provide leadership for all academic and career support provided to Football student-athletes as part of the overall Badger Built team. This individual will be the main point of contact for Football coaches and staff, and will provide supervision and direction to the team of individuals providing academic advising, learning support, and professional readiness. Responsibilities include leading support team operations, coordinating communication and reporting, implementing efficient systems and processes, providing strategy in recruiting, and supporting an identified group of Football student-athletes with individualized plans for their academic, personal, and professional growth.

This individual will receive, process, and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including meeting and communicating regularly with coaches and administrators, while maintaining confidentiality (FERPA) and adhering to NCAA, conference, athletic department, and institution policies and procedures. This individual will prioritize collaboration with colleagues on campus and in the community, as well as engagement with prospective student-athletes and families on recruiting visits. Occasional evenings and weekends are expected, and additional administrative duties may be assigned.

Preferred qualifications include:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience providing academic support in intercollegiate athletics
- Experience strategically leading a strong and effective team
- Familiarity with Football academic and career support
- Ability to connect with and influence diverse groups of individuals

The most qualified candidate will be a student-centered individual who prioritizes strong relationships with students, coaches, and staff, and who possesses: a self-motivated and team-oriented approach; a desire to engage with and serve diverse groups of individuals in various settings; a knowledge of NCAA and Big Ten rules; and the ability to multitask with strong attention to detail and organization.
