No Duties and Responsibilities The following details the core job functions for the Director of Global Initiatives and Institutional Relations. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Initiatives, this position performs core functions in the strategic and tactical support of Loyola’s global initiatives and Rome Center enrollment management efforts. The Office of Global Initiatives at Loyola dynamically responds to trends and shifts in the global education landscape, empowering the university to form strategic global initiatives and international /domestic institutional partnerships. Leveraging Loyola’s partner network, this position forms innovative recruiting techniques for Loyola’s Rome Center, aimed at ensuring sustainable Loyola and visiting student enrollment. This work requires fluency in contract development/review and a firm understanding of core business functions in this area. This position critically supports global engagement efforts, both in terms of outward visibility representing the university and the Rome Center to international and domestic institutional partners and internally in facilitating internal business operations and enrollment management functions. Essential Job Functions: + Rome Center Enrollment Management: The Director for Global Initiatives & Institutional Relations is responsible for comprehensive oversight of the development and implementation of Rome Center recruitment and enrollment management strategy. Accountable for Rome Center recruitment, enrollment management performance, and Rome Center Enrollment Management budgetary oversight. Supervisory management related to this role includes direct supervision of the Rome Center Enrollment Management team, including two Assistant Directors who perform many of the direct recruiting and engagement functions of Loyola’s enrollment management efforts for the center. + Global Initiative Development: This position provides strategic input in the development and maintenance of LUC’s global initiatives. This critical input includes but is not limited to the following core responsibilities: conducting research on partner institution viability, comprehensive international market and peer/competitor analysis, and exploring funding opportunities for LUC global initiatives. Further, this position will routinely liaise on behalf of LUC with international and domestic partners and university stakeholders (e.g., faculty, senior administrators) in the formation, development, and maintenance of contracts and other legal agreements. + International Contract Management: This position is responsible for oversight of the global engagement contract process. This includes Rome Center partner affiliation agreements, bilateral exchange agreements, direct-enrollment program contracts, memorandums of understanding, and program vendor agreements. The position is responsible for managing the contractual process for all agreements in Global Engagement, including negotiation, preparing agreements for institutional review and facilitation of agreement execution with partners. + Enrollment Management Stakeholder Engagement: This position will routinely liaise with colleagues at the Rome Center, the Study Abroad Office, and with OGCE leadership to ensure communication continuity, business operations consistency, and strategic alignment with center recruiting strategy and enrollment management techniques. + Global Initiative Management: This position will work directly to promote and sustain ongoing global initiatives, serving as a primary institutional contact for international partners and university stakeholders engaged in active initiatives. Currently, these responsibilities include the active management of LUC’s Collaborative Online International Learning ( COIL ) and Virtual Dual Immersion ( VDI ) initiatives, the facilitation of virtual and live-hosted panel discussions/forums like the Forum on Global Affairs, and the strategic support for the development or project management of other initiatives or programs presently being managed by the Office of Global Initiatives. + Reporting and Client Relationship Management: The Office of Global Initiatives is responsible for creating and maintaining university-level partnerships with international institutions and domestic partners as it relates to the Rome Center or US institutions with foreign campuses. Additionally, the office helps facilitate academic units and university stakeholders in fostering international relationships relevant to their work and mission. Central to this responsibility of the office, Loyola maintains an active inventory database of international partner relations and agreements. The Director for Global Initiatives and Institutional Relations will oversee the ongoing management of this partner relations database. Further, this position will be a core contributor in generating data and compiling reports for internal and external purposes as required. + Inbound Exchange Student Resource Center: This position will create and manage an institutional resource center and on-campus set of institutional contacts for inbound exchange students temporarily studying in Chicago on exchange from Loyola’s global exchange partner network. This position will also collaboratively work with the Assistant Director of ISSS , a position that will support this area for all immigration needs while the students are studying in Chicago. Jointly the positions will also organize networking and cultural events for exchange students. + Administrative Linkages: The dynamism of global initiatives requires attention and competence with what will often be irregular and unique business situations. Accordingly, the Senior Director of Global Initiatives and the Academic Finance & Business Operation Team regularly interact in support of global engagement efforts at the Direction of the Associate Provost for Global and Community Engagement. The Director for Global Initiatives and Institutional Relations will tactfully liaise in support of the interconnected responsibilities and functions in this area, playing a vital operational role in the effectiveness of these offices. + Additional duties as assigned in support of global engagement efforts. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Experience with leadership. Qualifications Minimum qualifications + Master’s degree in a related field + Extensive experience working with international partners, specifically in partner development and enrollment management. + Experience working with university stakeholders (e.g., faculty, senior administrators) and facilitating project development. + Advanced familiarity with core business operations, including contractual processes, in a higher education setting. + Outstanding written and oral communication skills + Strong computer and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree related to international education, public policy, or business administration Certificates/Credentials/Licenses Valid driver’s license, Valid US Passport (or ability to obtain one) Computer Skills + Experience in using, or ability to learn, SLATE , & Terra Dotta, and other enrollment management systems + Knowledge of LUC’s financial and administrative support systems + Advanced MS Word processing, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. + Adept user of internet, e-mail, and other office automation systems.
