The Director of Global Supplier Quality plays a key role in developing, maintaining and improving the Insulet Supplier Quality Assurance program. This individual will partner closely with Procurement, R&D, Logistics, Operations and others in providing strategic direction and tactical Supplier Quality support. Leading a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, the Director of Global Supplier Quality ensures that supplied materials and services meet Insulet’s design, process, and QMS requirements. This will be done through an end-to-end Supplier Quality Management program including selection, onboarding, monitoring, feedback, corrective action, and improvement. Additionally, this role is central to ensuring the growth and development of the Insulet supply base to meet business demands. The position reports to the Vice President, Global Quality Operations.
Responsibilities
· Strategic Leadership and Direction:
o Develop and execute a comprehensive supplier quality strategy aligned with our business objectives.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate supplier quality initiatives into overall corporate goals.
o Champion a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization.
· Risk-Based Program Development:
o Design and implement a risk-based supplier quality program that considers criticality, regulatory requirements, and business impact.
o Establish robust processes for supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing assessment.
o Mitigate risks related to materials, components, and services sourced globally.
· Compliance and Continuous Quality Improvement:
o Ensure Insulet’s Supplier Quality processes and procedures, as well as those of our suppliers, meet applicable standards and regulations (ISO13485, CFR 820, etc).
o Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance incoming quality from our supply base.
o Monitor supplier performance metrics, identify trends, and take proactive corrective actions.
o Collaborate with suppliers to optimize processes and resolve quality issues promptly.
· Supplier Lifecycle Management:
o Oversee the end-to-end supplier lifecycle, from initial assessment to ongoing monitoring.
o Conduct regular supplier audits, assessments, and performance evaluations.
o Foster strong relationships with strategic suppliers and ensure alignment with our quality standards.
· Collaboration and Partnerships:
o Work closely with internal stakeholders (Procurement, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, etc.) to align supplier quality goals.
o Engage with customers to understand their quality expectations and incorporate feedback into supplier management practices.
o Represent our organization in industry forums, conferences, and regulatory interactions.
· Budget Oversight and Resource Allocation:
o Manage the supplier quality department budget effectively.
o Allocate resources efficiently to support supplier audits, process improvements, and compliance activities.
· Team Management and Development
o Select, lead, and develop a team of high performing Supplier Quality professionals in the service of department objectives.
o Create and foster a culture of excellence and “doing what is right”.
o Provide expert-level Quality functional leadership, guidance, and direction to your team deploying state of the art supplier controls related to components and materials used in medical devices.

Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree (preferably science or engineering discipline) required.
· 10+ years of experience in Medical Device Quality Operations with 7 or more years at the Quality Manager level. Ideal experience would be in high-volume electromechanical devices.
· Broad extensive knowledge of methods, processes, equipment, and techniques in Supplier Quality area, particularly those which meet the requirements of ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, and MDR.
· Intermediate to advanced skill level of MS Word, Excel, Access, Auto Cad or equivalent.
Additional Information
· The position is in person at our Acton, MA USA flagship manufacturing facility (hybrid working arrangement possible).
· Travel is estimated at 15% but will flex depending on business need.

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,200.00 - $244,800.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
