Rio Verde Country Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Director of Golf. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to the membership.   Nestled just outside Scottsdale, Arizona, Rio Verde Country Club offers a stunning backdrop of the Tonto National Forest and Four Peaks. With two award-winning golf courses, vibrant social programming, and a welcoming community, Rio Verde embodies the perfect balance of tradition and innovation. Established in 1973 and managed by Troon, Rio Verde is a private club that serves as the heart of an active 55+ adult community with approximately 1,000 households and 500 members.

The club features 36 holes of "parkland" golf, with the last redesign completed by Tom Lehman in 2007, and is currently undergoing renovations on one of its two courses. In addition to golf, the club shares governance with the Rio Verde Community Association, offering a wide array of amenities such as a pool, tennis, pickleball, bocce, and numerous organized social and recreational activities.

We are seeking a visionary Director of Golf who will oversee all aspects of golf operations and provide an exceptional member and guest experience. This is a rare opportunity to lead in a collaborative environment where creativity and member satisfaction are paramount.   Responsibilities As Director of Golf, you will: Leadership: Lead a team of four key staff members plus contracted services. Inspire and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of excellence. Member Engagement: Manage the active group play program, recruit social (non-golfing) members, and oversee numerous golf events. Cultivate positive relationships with members, guests, and staff to enhance the member experience. Operations: Oversee tee sheet management, pro shop operations, merchandising, fleet management, and lesson programs. Work closely with the Director of Agronomy to ensure the courses are maintained to the highest standards. Financial Management: Develop and execute the annual golf operations budget. Implement strategic financial planning to achieve revenue and operational goals. Desired Skills The ideal candidate will have: Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop staff. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive relationships with members, guests, and staff. Innovative thinking and the ability to create and implement engaging golf programs and member experiences. Proficiency in golf operations software, including tee sheet management and point-of-sale systems. Strategic financial planning and budget management skills. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications PGA Class A Membership in good standing. Proven leadership experience in a golf operations role at a private or high-end resort club. Strong understanding of golf operations, including tee sheet management, merchandising, and tournament programming. Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving operational success.
