Nexus Family Healing is looking to add a Director of Growth to our fantastic team!

Position Summary:  Our Director of Growth advances organizational expansion and the fulfillment of Nexus Family Healing’s strategic growth plan, goals, and objectives by leading the implementation of new programs across multiple states and service lines. This role achieves new program development by forging and investing in relationships with operational leaders, building and guiding project teams and demonstrating exceptional project management execution.

Primary responsibilities:

Strategic Growth & Leadership

Embraces the organization’s annual strategic growth plan and aligns the planning and execution of new program opportunities and project planning, with the overarching goals and objectives of the strategic plan.   Utilizes the market analysis and needs assessment performed by the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) upon developing project plans for new program opportunities; considers revenue projections, market dynamics, economic implications, competitive analysis, and implementation costs in project planning documentation. Continuously fosters synergistic relationships with department leaders, building trust, rapport, and reciprocity, ensuring a stable and collaborative foundation is in place for future project implementation teams. Partners with the CGO on the planning and reporting of Nexus Family Healing’s growth and expansion; provides senior leaders with program implementation progress updates throughout the project lifecycle. Fosters internal alignment around the departments’ goals and initiatives, communicating objectives across all departments, upholding the Nexus mission, and encouraging continuity and driving business growth. Represents Nexus Family Healing at community events, industry meetings and grand openings, serving as an advocate for Nexus’ mission and plan for growth by presenting new and evolving projects and initiatives.   

Project Planning & Program Execution

Acquires newly assigned opportunities from CGO; serves as the Growth department’s subject matter expert and point person for new program development, project management and program implementation. Originates detailed program project plans and workflows, incorporating assumptions, time, resources, stakeholders, interdependencies, budget, and evaluative measures that determine project health and success. Develops project teams with representatives from each program department; establishes teams consisting of members from HR, Talent, CQI, MarComm, IT, EHR, Finance and Training and Development. Institutes reoccurring meetings with project stakeholders; facilitates updates from each project member assessing completed project goals, objectives and milestones while proactively identifying roadblocks and mitigating risk. Identifies and documents relevant project assumptions that allow project teams to perform their work with a high degree of confidence and certainty, leading to project implementation that is on time and within budget. Proactively recognizes and considers relevant governing bodies and compliance regulations that may have implications for program development and project advancement. Navigates several project and program implementations across multiple states and diverse service lines; identifies priorities and intuitively discerns the tasks, conversations and resources requiring immediate attention.

Project Leadership & Talent Investment

Institutes a strong project foundation by defining clear roles and responsibilities among individual project stakeholders; establishes and communicates clearly defined project expectations and protected outcomes. Invests in relationships with operational department leaders, building credibility, transparency, and reciprocity; learns the inner workings of how each department functions and strives to perform project work in a manner that considers each department’s capacity, resources, culture and strengths. Inspires and engages project teams to have a vested interest in project success; articulates a clear project vision, timeline, goals and objectives, providing continuous feedback on milestones throughout the project lifecycle. Prioritizes the development of program leaders throughout the course of the project; identifies opportunities to coach and mentor leaders in areas including talent selection, operations, time management and budgeting. Partners with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition to define new program roles and responsibilities; participates in the interview, selection, and development of program employees.   Orchestrates training and development needs for new program leaders and employees; strategizes with the Director of Training & Development to design and implement training for new program service lines. Support and guide agency/program leaders in building and establishing Nexus treatment standards and team culture. Evaluate clinical alignment, report on expected agency/program performance, adjust as needed and walk leaders through startup challenges.

Project Handoff & Transitional Success

Creates transition plans that facilitate the seamless handoff of new programs from project manager to Executive Director (ED); identifies and addresses skill and resource gaps before go-live providing sustainable solutions. Facilitates handoff discussions with program leaders ensuring ED’s have the appropriate training, resources and talent needed to successfully operationalize, execute and lead their program to success.    Returns to previously implemented programs to enhance or add onto existing service lines; provides ongoing support, problem solving and solutions to new programs until program leaders are fully optimal. Identifies patterns, opportunities and risk that may surface during program handoff; documents areas of opportunity, strategizes solutions and develops processes to mitigate risk for future program implementation. Seeks ways to continuously improve program and service line implementation and efficiency; identifies historic project roadblocks and applies solutions to future opportunities, to assure scalability and budget attainment. Works with Nexus HQ to create and/or revises materials (policies, procedures, practices) required to fulfill new service alignment and reflect the Nexus brand image and related agencies.  

Program Funding 

Conducts research required to source and secure funding opportunities for new and existing service lines; curates and manages the documentation and submission for identified funding.  Requests RFP and grant applications to determine if funding opportunities align with Nexus Family Healing’s mission, vision and long-term growth and development goals for the organization. In coordination with CGO and identified Home Office staff, prepares and submits responses to grants and RFPs; captures pertinent details including project assumptions, specifications and scope, statement of objectives, statement of work, budget, resources and how each funding opportunity may fulfill Nexus Family Healing’s mission.

 Policy & Procedure Development

Demonstrates and utilizes effective growth strategy best practices new program/service lines including policies, and procedures, for the successful evaluation and integration of development opportunities. Remains current on all required trainings and certifications; maintains working and applicable knowledge of all Nexus policies and procedures. Ensures appropriate boundaries are maintained in all staff/client interactions and that physical interventions are conducted appropriately and within training parameters. Exercises moral judgement and sound decision making; exercises the ability to plan, prioritize, organize and problem and effectively manage multiple projects and activities while responding to change. Demonstrates an acceptance and respectfulness toward diversity concerning commonalities and differences such as: gender, race, age, culture, ethnicity, class, religion, sexual preference, disability, and gender identity.

Required Education and Licensure:

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services-related field required. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple complex projects across multiple states and service lines, working directly with high level executives, and managing budgets. Minimum of 5 years of project management and formal leadership experience with experience managing dynamic project teams with multiple stakeholders. Minimum of 5 years of experience of working in one or more capacities in the Human Services industry. Experience working with MS Office Suite and PM software. Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements.

 Nice To Have:

Master’s degree in a Human Services-related field strongly preferred. Bachelors + 10 years’ experience 7+ years’ experience leading teams and managing complex projects in the Human Services industry. Experience leading a residential facility or mental/behavioral health program.
