POSITION SUMMARY:
We are committed to giving our guests an exceptional experience while visiting Nemacolin! The role of Director of Health & Safety will support the facilitation of the guest experience by ensuring that the health and safety standards of all of our outlets are adhered to at the highest level of compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Food Safety: Must be ServSafe certified and be an expert in Food Safety requirements as delineated by the FDA. Must be an expert in food safety processes and procedures. Safety Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of all kitchen areas, bars, equipment, and processes. Ensure compliance with safety standards and identify areas for improvement. Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Create, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures for all departments, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.HACCP Plan: Ensure HACCP Plans are in place for all potentially critical points in all kitchens ie: Sous Vide / Cryovac, Sushi Rice, Oysters, etc. Certifications: Ensure all leadership maintains their minimum level of certification as is dictated by their position - ie, all managers MUST have their ServSafe, all Bartenders & Servers MUST have their RAMP certification, one chef MUST have HACCP certification where applicable and may only have trained associates using HACCP required equipment or processes with oversight and accountability.
Allergens: Ensure training and testing of all Associates regarding the allergens on their menus. Drive and maintain the standard operating procedure for how to address an allergy with a guest as they arise. Spot check this process throughout outlets to ensure compliance.
Conduct Risk Assessments: Regularly assess and identify potential health and safety hazards within the workplace. Develop strategies to mitigate or eliminate these risks.
Collaboration: Work cross-departmentally with F&B (Chefs & Managers), Stewarding, and Engineering (as needed) to create a cohesive plan with clearly defined responsibilities and follow through for open items and consistently improve existing processes. Health, Safety, and Collaboration must be upheld as a cultural tenet of the organization.
Inspections: Maintain Health Department level standards in preparation for all Health Inspections.
Licensure: Ensure all food licenses and liquor licenses are up-to-date.
Safety Training and Education: Organize and conduct safety training programs for all employees, including new hire orientations, ongoing training, and specialized training for specific roles or tasks - this includes RAMP, Allergen training, safety training, etc.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including procedures for fire, evacuation, first aid, and other emergencies. Conduct drills and exercises to ensure preparedness. Maintain First Aid Kits in tandem with Chefs so that all kitchens are properly stocked in the event of an accident or emergency.
Incident Investigation: Investigate all workplace incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain detailed records of all incidents and investigations. This goes for guest incidents in F&B outlets as well as Associate incidents (cut finger, thrown back, etc.)
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on all relevant health and safety laws, regulations, and standards. Ensure the organization's compliance with all applicable regulations. This includes PA State Law as well as FDA regulations and RAMP.
Safety Promotion: Foster a culture of safety within the organization by promoting awareness and encouraging safe work practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare and present regular safety reports to management.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the organization's health and safety programs. Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in health and safety.
Problem-solving: Demonstrates independent and advanced decision-making for complex problems by utilizing critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving.
Time-Management: Outstanding time-management skills, with proven ability to accomplish numerous tasks and challenging priorities in an effective and timely manner; demonstrated ability to execute on short-term, deadline-driven tasks daily, as well as important long-term projects requiring collaboration from multiple parties.
Discretion: Ability to hand confidential information with discretion and tact.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Minimum of 5 years experience in the hospitality industry, with the most recent overseeing F&B multi-outlet operations in a high-volume, high-end luxury resort preferred. Knowledge of superior customer service training Fluent English Multilingual a plus, but not required!
