Position Summary: The Health Services Manager is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Health Services Department and the delivery of health services for youth ensuring the health related needs of the youth are met. This position provides the direct supervision of the health care team to include the nurse and other staff when engaged in providing health related services.
Department
Gateway Longview’s Behavioral Health & Preventive Services programs supports children and youth ages birth-21 years struggling with behavioral, social, and emotional challenges.

Compensation
$67,000 - $75,000 (yearly)

Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for agency compliance with external and internal regulations regarding required health care of agency clients in the Residential, Foster Care, Supervised Independent Living Program, Day School and Therapeutic Preschool.
+ Provide preventive health care and health care for disease and injury to the children in agency programs by facilitating necessary nursing, medical, dental, and related care to accomplish this purpose either by the performance of specific skilled nursing procedures, including nursing assessment, or scheduling the necessary care with the appropriate health practitioner.
+ Work collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary team by contributing own area of expertise through effective communication of essential medical information regarding individual clients, conducting in-service education programs, and monitoring health care given by non-medical personnel in order to assure that children’s health care needs are met in the respective agency programs.
+ Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and licensing requirements related to health care of clients by scheduling necessary exams, securing necessary diagnostic tests, performing those skills within the area of nursing expertise, and keeping accurate and comprehensive health records of same in accordance with state regulations and agency policy
+ Manage job functions within established financial limits.
+ Ensure overall functioning of the Health Services department including supervision and scheduling of the nursing staff, as well as supervision/oversight of health-related personnel. Effectively function as a full practitioner as needed to fulfill duties of department staff.
+ Ensure continuity of managerial and specialized personnel fully competent in achieving objectives and carrying out responsibilities through effective selection, development, training, evaluator, and motivation of key subordinates.
+ Complete required reports and documentation in timely manner.
+ Responsible for medication management and ensure compliance with the medication administration certification of licensed and unlicensed staff.
+ Ensure and maintain accurate and complete healthcare records for all the youth to include the electronic health record.
+ Monitor and maintain records related to the 29I managed care requirements for Foster Care, Residential Care and Supervised Independent Living
+ Provide new employee orientation.
+ Other duties as assigned

+ Ability to work effectively with youth, families, staff and community contracts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
+ Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
+ Ability to deal effectively with youth and/or families
+ Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change
Qualifications
+ Registered Nurse and Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
+ Previous supervisory, psychiatric, and pediatric experience
+ Must have a valid driver’s license
