Job Description

Position Summary 
The Director of Human Resources will plan, lead, direct, and coordinate the policies, activities, and practices of the Human Resources (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for driving and championing the company culture. This position will report directly to the VP of Human Resources, Hospitality and the hotel General Manager.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
•    Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention
•    Plan, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs
•    Administer human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; health and safety; and training and development
•    Identify and lead staffing and recruiting needs in collaboration with Talent Acquisition
•    Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system
•    Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices
•    Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management
•    Oversee part of the HRIS/payroll function; ensures timely and accurate payroll, audits and reviews processing systems to ensure accurate job codes, accruals, hours, time and labor
•    Facilitate professional development and training activities for staff
•    Manage and lead Human Resources team and/or Human Resource activities on property
•    Create a team environment where employees feel valued and supported
•    Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements 
•    Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred
•    7 plus years of human resource management experience required; Ski Industry or Hospitality Human Resources experience preferred
•    SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities  
•    Knowledge of Spanish language and ability to speak Spanish conversationally
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
•    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
•    Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Strong supervisory and leadership skills
•    Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees
•    Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
•    Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365
•    Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems

Additional Information

Work Environment and Physical Demands 
•    Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements 
•    No adverse or hazardous conditions
•    Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
