About this opportunity:
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Director of Hardware Engineering to build and lead our hardware engineering team in India. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in hardware design, leadership, and collaboration with overseas partners. This role will be critical in driving the development of our next-generation cellular and Wi-Fi enterprise-class routers.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, build, lead and manage the hardware engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Drive the hardware design and development process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable products that meet market demands and customer needs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including firmware/software engineering, product management, and operations, to align hardware engineering efforts with company objectives.Manage relationships with overseas ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) and JDM (Joint Design Manufacturer) partners, ensuring effective communication, program management and collaboration to meet project timelines and quality standards.Oversee the development of cellular and Wi-Fi enterprise-class routers, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.Provide strategic direction and guidance to the hardware engineering team, setting clear goals and objectives to drive performance and innovation.Influence senior leadership through effective communication and presentation of technical strategies and initiatives.Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance our hardware offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.At least 10 years of engineering experience, with a strong focus on hardware design.At least 5 years of leadership and people management experience, with a proven ability to lead and inspire engineering teams.Deep understanding of hardware design principles, methodologies, manufacturing and best practices.Experience working with overseas ODM and JDM partners, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex, global projects.Expertise in developing cellular and Wi-Fi enterprise-class routers, with a deep understanding of the associated technologies and market requirements.
Preferred Skills:
Strong background in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), or Mechanical Engineering (ME) design.Experience in program management, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.Proven ability to influence senior leadership and drive strategic initiatives.Demonstrated engineering leadership, with a track record of delivering successful hardware products.
