Job Summary:
Seeking a Director of Imaging for Breast Care ServicesThe Director will oversee all regulatory compliance issues, including all aspects of the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) as it is defined by the FDA and the ACR (American College of Radiology.) Includes operational oversight and quality control of the policies and procedures for maintaining and reporting the required annual FDA audits, ACR accreditation program requirements, including maintaining ACR comprehensive center status, where applicable, and all EQUIP requirement processes, in consultation and collaboration with the Physician Regional Medical Director for Breast Imaging and lead interpreting physicians. Assures quality services for patients and serves as a resource for technical supervisors, nurses, patients and referring providers.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
In addition, primary responsibilities of this role include:
1. Demonstrates high-level knowledge of established protocols and equipment operation when performing quality control testing. Provides instruction and feedback to technologists.
2. Works closely with the Mammography Technologists, Physicians, RNs, Physicists and Bio Med to ensure the department operates within compliance of MQSA regulations.
3. Provides ongoing QC resources and education to relevant breast centers performing mammography.
4. Oversees preparation/modifications/updates all Quality control documentation forms for clinics.
5. Performs quarterly review and/or audits of all clinics’ QC records with onsite visits to ensure compliance with MQSA.
6. Oversees ministry technical supervisors in all aspects and preparation and completion of annual Inspections and documentation required by MQSA, the State of Missouri and ACR.
7. Works together with supply chain, radiologists, nurses, and supervisors to assure a cost-effective inventory management process. Evaluates inventory processes used across ministries to optimize product utilization and minimize waste.
8. Provides training and guidance for the orientation and onboarding of new staff, new equipment training, and new exam protocols.
9. Collaborate and work with Imaging Directors to ensure smooth operations and quality assurance for all relevant breast imaging modalities (US, MR) that impact comprehensive center status and daily breast center operations.
10. Develop and maintain relevant dashboards with ministry technologist supervisors for operations to serve as discussion points for daily/weekly team huddles.
11. Assists with ensuring accuracy of coding, billing, and collections.
12. Plans, implements, and supports budget decisions. Utilizes personnel and supplies consistently within budgetary guidelines. Proactively plans workforce needs in collaboration with managers.
13. Oversees staff of approximately 50 employees, includes mammogram team leads, mammogram technologists, ultrasound technologists and nurse navigators.
Education:
Bachelor's degreeGraduate of approved School of Radiologic Technology, ARRT registered – Radiology and MammographyExperience:
7 years' experience, with 5 years in leadership3-5 years’ mammography experience, including 2 or more years’ experience as a Quality Control Technologist.Work Shift:
