Director of Imaging, PET

The Director of Imaging, PET is responsible for partnering with the VP of Physician Sales to create, update, and implement sales training content, with a particular focus on Positron Emission Tomography (PET). This role will work to ensure field sales account executives have a thorough understanding of product offerings, market competition, and can effectively use selling skills in executing the entire sales cycle from prospect to close. Must develop an expert knowledge of the entire Akumin sales process to provide support, analyze, and improve current strategies. Must also contribute to generating new sales ideas that drive optimal sales force effectiveness. In addition, this role will serve as Akumin’s strategist attending to the state of the PET fleet for new systems, upgrades, and replacements.

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

In partnership with the VP of Physician Sales, ensures development and consistent delivery of sales training curriculum. Partners with sales and marketing leaders to ensure understanding of product portfolio (with strong emphasis on PET), geography specific market dynamics and learning needs, and modifies sales training programs to meet those needs.

Manages New Hires through onboarding process and assists with all new hire sales training programs as part of the new hire sales education pathway. Develops a clear value proposition for Akumin’s product offerings in the marketplace, and ensures account executives can successfully articulate this to referring providers.

Measures effectiveness of training programs and develops reports and comprehensive program analysis. Co-travels with Account Executives (AE) and Regional Sales Directors (RSD) roles as needed to provide coaching on selling effectiveness, ensure training consistency, and build relationships with customers and AE’s and RSD’s. Effectively support and serve as an advisor to AE’s, RSD’s, and Sales leaders.

Collaborates in the creation of advanced sales training programs, workshops, and competitive selling modules on a continual basis, assessing current field-facing issues, then delivering selling workshops that are designed to proactively sell the advantages of our products over the competition.

Presents CT solutions and fosters relationships with current and future customers and partners. Collaborates with Physician Sales & Business Development teams in developing long-term strategic partnerships.

Recognizes and understands competitive products, industry trends and Akumin’s product portfolio to include competitive selling talk tracks into all training curriculum as a primary focus of the role.

Drives expertise and expansion of the Radiology Operations Command Center (ROCC) in MRI and contributes to the planning and implementation of end-to-end informatics.

Provides strategic insight to Executive Leadership and VPs of Physician Sales for continuous evolution of all training programs.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience.

Expert in the differences in our multi-vendor fleet capabilities (Philips, GE, Siemens).

At least 10 years of professional sales experience, or a sales and coaching role including experience in the development and delivery of technical training (preferably within the diagnostics and/or hospital imaging capital equipment industry).

Strong experience in delivering live, virtual, and blended learning.

Experience developing sales tools, education, and training programs to boost sales skills, technical competency, and overall effectiveness.

Requires an exceptional understanding of standard business practices related to sales operations processes and systems (sales cycle, sales methodology, CRM applications, reporting, forecasting and territory management).

Familiarity with and ability to apply adult learning and instructional design philosophies, strategies, and theories to various types of projects including and beyond the curriculum.

Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and professional speaking skills to include classroom facilitation.

Must be able to manage multiple priorities and assignments simultaneously.

Demonstrated ability to articulate learning objectives that are focused, concise, and measurable.

25% Travel may be required.

Preferred:

Master's Degree.

Exposure to Strategic Selling, Professional Selling Skills programs is a plus. (Preferably solution sales or consultative sales).

Certified or willing to complete certification based on achieved milestones (via vendor Train-the-Trainer processes) to train sales methodologies, such as Richardson, Ignite Sales, and Miller Heiman.

Physical Requirements:
