Position: Director of Infrastructure

Primary Function:
As the Director of Infrastructure, you will be responsible for the IT Infrastructure and associated strategic direction of the company. Your goals are to ensure the resiliency and scalability of the network, server, workstation, and software environments within the organization. You will lead the Network, Server and Desktop teams, and ensure they are effective and following the overall company direction. Additionally, you will ensure our vendors are servicing the company properly. Candidates will be expected to have knowledge of the latest IT industry trends including cloud, AI and security.
Job Scope and Major Responsibilities:
Manage IT infrastructure teams, set direction, make decisions and serve as the executive contact point with our IT vendors. Meet with other senior staff and discuss direction and strategy for the company from an IT infrastructure perspective. Ensure the environments are properly monitored and optimized for smooth operation of the company’s systems. Oversee the Disaster Recovery process, testing, vendors, and overall configuration. Ensure that the company can maintain continuity of service in the event of a disaster. Manage the relationship between the company and it’s 3rd party IT vendors. Negotiate contracts with new vendors and manage the relationship and contract renewal process with existing vendors. Set departmental goals for the individual teams and provide ways to measure and motivate employees to meet those goals. Conduct interviews for new positions as they open up. Collaborate with the application team, DBAs, business units, and clients to design and advise on technology solutions. Identify, evaluate, and recommend new solutions that may improve the corporate technical infrastructure. Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to IT managers and employees. Design and document office networks and connectivity between corporate offices and datacenters. Create and maintain IT related policies and procedures. Ensure internal and external clients receive high-quality IT products and services. Manage project timelines, resources, staffing and quality control within the department. Perform periodic assessments to ensure that systems and networks are functioning as expected and are in compliance with corporate IT and security policies. Provide requested information and participate in security assessments when needed during internal and external audits. Adhere to physical, administrative and technical safeguards related to core business when executing job functions. Technical background required:
Microsoft Windows domain environment Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, IIS Azure Compute, Networking, Storage Network traffic routing, VPN’s & VLAN’s Microsoft Hyper-V or related virtualization technology Optional Plus Palo Alto firewalls Cisco Switches & ASA PowerShell scripting knowledge On-site to cloud migration Self-motivated, able to take the initiative to solve potential issues. Strong technical knowledge of networking and Windows operating systems. Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards. Proven experience in IT infrastructure deployment, setup and testing. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and accurate documentation. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks during high-pressure circumstances.
