Director of Institutional Giving - 131 West 25th Street

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, and working closely with the development team in a fast paced, mission-driven department, the Director of Institutional Giving will be responsible for leading and executing institutional research and grant writing efforts.

Responsibilities include:

Lead institutional research efforts to identify prospective funding opportunities and related connections to those opportunities.

Write and submit effective funding requests, including preparing proposals/reports, budgets, and other supplementary materials.Grow and oversee a portfolio of donors and prospects creating and executing effective cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.Collaborate with departments throughout BRC to ensure recording and execution of contractual grant requirements. (Work closely with CEO to understand complexity of BRC’s work and to capture the organization’s “voice.”Manage grant schedule and working relationships with current foundation supporters, including major philanthropic players such as The Robin Hood Foundation, Weinberg Foundation and The Clark FoundationDevelop and maintain competency in BRC’s mission, work and needs through regular exposure to BRC activities, clients and staff. Embrace and core values and goals of BRC, including supporting agency efforts to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion. Related Duties as assigned

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm (Hybrid 3 days in office)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree required.3-5 years of grants management, research, and writing experience with a track record of success securing six-figure grants.Self-motivated, able to work independently and responsibly under deadlines, with limited supervision.Exceptional writing skills that reflect attention to detail, critical thinking, and clarity. Ability to understand and communicate complex information.Experience overseeing and monitoring development team budgets, expenses, and reporting.Interest in issues relating to homelessness, mental health and/or substance abuse a plus.
