Our Organization:
Schwab’s Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS) organization drives our strategy to create an integrated Wealth and Advice Solutions business and prioritize the investments we make in them. Within WAS, Investment Offers & Solutions (IOS) is responsible for managing our third-party product marketplaces (Alternative Investments, Managed Accounts, Mutual Funds, ETFs, Structured Products, Fixed Income, Annuities & Insurance, and 529) as well as our proprietary Separately Managed Accounts. Our mission is to provide a positive experience for the Schwab clients that invest in these products, while growing a revenue stream which is vital to Schwab’s overall financial health.
Within IOS, Managed Accounts Solutions (MAS) is responsible for the end-to-end offer management for our third-party and proprietary managed investing, primarily Separately Managed Accounts (SMA). To do this, we maintain a robust product offering (e.g. by developing new offers, enhancing existing offers, or adding resources to the platforms), develop new tools and research for clients, build relationships with third-party and proprietary asset management partners, and work effectively with internal partners and outside firms to create a strong positive client experience. Serving individual investors, registered investment advisors (RIAs), retirement plans, and other institutional clients, our Managed Accounts offers are a centralized and shared resource for the firm.
Our Opportunity:
As more and more clients (both retail clients and RIAs) are employing Managed Accounts in their portfolio, we see an opportunity to enhance the products, services and experience we provide them. The Director will be specifically responsible for leading high-impact efforts intended to significantly enhance and expand our ability to meet the needs of Registered Investment Advisors (RIA) for Managed Accounts through Advisor Services, including evolving our platforms to be more modern and competitive while continuing to effectively manage the offers. This individual will also play a central role in providing thought leadership for the broader Managed Accounts business and in connecting the dots with critical partners across the organization.
The Director of Managed Accounts Offer Design & Development, reporting to the Managing Director of Managed Account Solutions, will own the end-to-end vision and roadmap, leading strategic initiatives and offer oversight for our third-party Managed Account platforms (including Managed Account Select, Access, Marketplace and Model Market Center) and our proprietary SMA offers (e.g., Wasmer Schroeder, Thomas Partners, Windhaven) for RIAs. They will also manage tradeoff decisions and roadmap prioritization to innovate and enhance these offerings. The Director owns the business oversight and risk management of the platforms, as well as the development of the key objectives and measurable results for the business. This role will be the business lead for the strategic implementation of critical projects (such as platform enhancements, business model evolution, and/or risk mitigation projects). This is a people leader role and the ability to drive change and achieve results by creating and leading a high-performing and engaged team is critical for success.
Cross-enterprise leadership and influence is crucial to the success of this role as well experience driving measurable outcomes. The Director will work closely with internal and external partners (including other product platform leaders, research partners, and leaders across business enterprises, operations, digital, legal and compliance partners) to ensure strategic alignment and progress on mutual goals and objectives. They will be self-motivated, results and details oriented, have a strong sense of urgency, and be able to independently lead major cross-functional initiatives and project implementation.
What you have
