Operating acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities, outpatient facilities and ambulatory care access points, an insurance offering, a physician network and various related services located all over the U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom. UHS is currently searching for a Director of Managed Care for our acute locations. The position could be located anywhere in Texas with easy access to an airport. Position Responsibilities: • Support the maximization of the performance of UHS private payer contracted business in accordance with UHS strategic and financial directives • Participate in and coordinate contract negotiations, and assist in projecting their financial performance which includes the requirement to develop various modeled financial scenarios in conjunction with local and corporate Decision Support staff and the Regional Director, Managed Care. • Lead specified contract negotiations at the direction of the Regional Director. • Ensure revenue cycle coordination among all functional areas required to maximize collections of expected revenues. • Assist the Regional Director in the evolving transition from traditional, fee-for-service revenue to fee-for-value and pay-for-performance models. • Assist the Regional Director in coordinating all efforts with appropriate staff responsible for the financial performance maximization of company-owned and managed physician practices (IPM). • Assist Regional Director in supporting due diligence and contracting efforts of UHS acquisitions in the South Texas region. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree • 8-10 years related experience • Comprehensive working knowledge of managed care contracting and practices sufficient to maximize revenue generated from these sources. • Extensive knowledge of health care finance practices and methods. • Demonstrated managed care contract negotiation skills. • Demonstrated inter-personal and written and verbal communication skills required in imparting and developing contract negotiation practices to Acute Care hospital executive management staff. • Ability to travel within the assigned market.
