Director of Market Strategy - Energy, Infrastructure and Automation

Leidos’ Energy Infrastructure & Automation Business Area is seeking a Director of Market Strategy and Implementation to help shape the Business Area strategic direction and drive growth and profitability. This position will be located at the Leidos headquarters in Reston, Virginia.

Specifically, this role is responsible for leading projects and collaborating with business and functional leaders across the Sector, Business Areas and Corporation.  The selected candidate will apply sound judgment to the most complex planning, design, technical, and management functions.  Effectiveness will be determined by this individual’s ability to quickly form partnerships across the Sector and Business Areas to facilitate implementation of strategic initiatives.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will report to the Vice President of Growth for Energy Infrastructure & Automation and will be responsible for partnering with other leaders and team members from across the Business Area to develop, communicate, and implement strategies to drive growth. This role has an opportunity to implement the elements of Market Area strategies, monitor competitive dynamics, identify and conduct diligence on potential strategic partners and acquisition candidates, and engage in organizational performance improvement initiatives. In addition, this role is responsible for pipeline and customer engagement data analysis and driving process improvement across the Business Area.

Commercial and International is a diverse and global sector in Leidos that delivers global security solutions, energy infrastructure solutions, and business in the UK and Australia.        

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide effective leadership to inspire, motivate and guide cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives and collaborate with team members to identify the necessary resources to achieve strategic initiativesDefine KPIs to establish measurable objective criteria for evaluating the progress and success of strategic initiativesPartners with SVPs/VPs to support the development and implementation of each strategic plan and provides the market research and analysis to support decision-makingPartners with Corporate Development by investigating and evaluating potential targets for mergers, acquisitions, and divestituresManages and fully leverages cross-business Industry Associations to maximum enterprise benefit. Participate in the industry event(s) as thought leaderDevelops and implements Strategy Communication and Cascade process to ensure all the employees are aware and align with strategies relevant to their roles, and are energized by the future directionSupports corporate events and requests such as the Strategic Advisory Group, Leidos Board of Directors meetings, Investor briefings, and CEO presentations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Business Administration degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 15+ years of experience in business operations, strategic planning, strategy implementation, M&A or corporate development related experience. Or a Masters and 10+ years of relevant experience.
 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university required, combined with 15+ years of relevant experience and leadership responsibilities, including demonstrated proficiency in strategic planning and implementationDemonstrated capability in and familiarity with market research, competitive, and financial analysisDemonstrated success closing one or more Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)Proven capability to apply strong diplomatic, leadership/problem-solving skills and drive issue resolution to closureProven problem solver who can make clear-headed decisions while under time pressureExcellent verbal (including presentation) and written communication skills, including ability to establish positive and productive working relationships inside and outside the companyAbility to dissect complex issues, analyze data, and draw insights to inform decisions.Robust experience in Microsoft suite, such as Excel (incl formulas and pivot tables), PowerPoint and Word10-20% travel is expectedOriginal Posting Date:2025-01-21

Pay Range:Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
