GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Director of Mission Communications has a dual responsibility of providing divisional events support and support to the Corps. To promote the mission of the Division. This position is responsible for developing media and technical support resources for the NEOSA Division, including digital media and recordings. The Director of Mission Communications is also responsible for producing necessary audio and visual media to support divisional events and providing live production support. The Director of Mission Communications also offers audio/visual technical support and training to Corps Officers to aid in general worship and corps programming.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Mission Communications is responsible for overseeing the following:

Growth and development of the mission communications in the divisionCreation and execution of technical resources that support the divisionManage budgets and funding to support the growth of the departmentVisit the Corps to gather photos and videos of the Corps for programs throughout the year.Support all Divisional Events through resources, tech/AV support, and media.Will work closely with other DHQ Departments to provide media/digital content.Develop a plan to work with social media platforms to enhance the mission of the Division.

 

The Director of Mission Communications is responsible for all DHQ audio/visual needs.

Creatively produce pre-recorded content as requested, including recording and editingMaintain an archive of content, including historical media and data.Work with other departments to aid and support audio/visual needs for various divisional eventsOversee and maintain audio/visual equipment, including the upkeep and purchase of new equipment as needed.As requested, provide audio/visual support for Youth Councils, Men’s Camp, Women’s Retreat, Family Camp, Star Search, Rallies and other Divisional Events 

The Director of Mission Communications will coordinate specific projects with the appropriate department heads.

As requested, provide audio/visual support for Youth Councils and other youth events in conjunction with the youth department.At the request of the Divisional Youth Secretary, provide tech support at Camp NEOSA.With the Development Department, create video and digital content and update Corps Schedules and ministries for the website.

 

The Director of Mission Communications supports the field with audio-visual needs.

Assess and evaluate audio/visual needs, including determining whether outside professional assessment and installation are required.As needed, assist the corps with local professionals on research and planning for audio/visual purchasing and installation.Instructional guidance on the operation and setup of audio/visual equipmentHands-on training as needed for significant upgrades and installation

 

 

The Divisional Commander may assign the Director of Mission Communications to other projects. The Director of Mission Communications is expected to maintain an organized system of projects to meet the needs of working with multiple departments as requested. The Director of Mission Communications must be willing and able to work across numerous departments to meet various technical and creative needs. They must also communicate effectively with others to design and create audio/visual media.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

Must have a college degree or have equivalent experience in a communications field.Valid driver's licenseMust have skills in project managementHave proven ability to assess project objectives and creatively and effectively produce and meet project goals. Have a working knowledge of audio and visual software and hardware, including Adobe Creative Cloud, digital audio consoles, and analog and digital hardware.Demonstrated ability to produce video content as well as digital media content in accordance with our brand standards.
