Director of Nursing Overview Requisition Number: 7815 Date Posted: 1/15/2025 Location: Pecora Center Address: 139 Cornell Street City: Kingston Category: Clinical/Nursing Description We have new full-time opportunity for a Director of Nursing (DON), who will provide clinical leadership for nursing services across Ulster, Greene and Putnam counties. The DON is responsible for the implementation and facilitation of nursing service delivery strategies approved by the Chief Operating Officer. Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following: + Collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop, support and coordinate service recipient’s care, related administrative functions, and to represent the interests of the agency. + Delivers sound leadership to the nursing team and function as an active participant within the interdisciplinary team. + Provides direct oversight of Senior RN’s while ensuring quality care is provided to the individuals we support. + Full responsibility and accountability for all medical and regulatory aspects delivered in the agency day and residential programs. + Maintains ongoing monitoring and oversight of documentation of residents’ health needs, identify emerging health needs and provide appropriate guidance and interventions. + Responsible for the development and implementation of preventive health services for individuals with developmental disabilities. + Facilitates and ensures health assessments for individuals served are completed utilizing the nursing process and within the scope of practice. + Promotes a safe, secure, and dependable environment promoting a higher quality of life for service recipients. Considers the unique characteristics and needs of each individual as expressed by the individual and others who know the person, such as family, friends, service providers, etc. + Maintains a positive, healthy, and stimulating therapeutic environment for service recipients. + Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Arc Mid-Hudson. SCHEDULE: 40/Monday through Friday/days/flexible STARTING SALARY: $ 120,000 to $ 150,000 per year Minimum Requirements + Graduate of an accredited school of nursing two (2) years’ experience working in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities required. BSN or Master’s degree preferred. + Current license by the NYS Department of Education as Registered Nurse. + Minimum of 5 years leadership/management experience. + Must have acceptable driver’s license that meets acceptable standards of the agency’s automobile insurance company. + Reliable transportation to travel via car to various Agency residential locations to complete tasks.
