The Director of Nursing is responsible to make a compelling difference in the lives of our residents through providing excellence and innovation in aging services. The Director of Nursing is responsible for strategic leadership, program development and implementation, and overall administration of Nursing Services in accordance with community and resident needs, government regulations, projected industry changes, and WEL policies and procedures.
The Director or Nursing would:
Assumes responsibility for the development of nursing service objectives, performance standards of nursing practice for each category of nursing personnel, and nursing policies and procedures.Directs, evaluates and supervises all resident care and initiates corrective action as necessary.Directs and/or assesses resident care needs and assists in the development of individualized plans of care.Evaluates resident care as related to individualized resident needs, family involvement and the physician’s plan of care for the resident.Directs staff and/or assesses resident responses to medication and treatment, and make appropriate recommendations for nursing action to be implemented.Reports concerns/problems to the Director of Long Term Care, conducts daily resident rounds and initiate corrective action as necessary.Conducts ongoing monitoring of incidents/accidents, identifies trends, implements corrective action or systems changes necessary.Monitors Infection Control practices, identifies trends, implements corrective action or systems changes necessary.Perform other duties as required.

Related Experience:
At least five years’ experience leading teams.Long-term care preferred.
Education or Degree Requirements:
Advanced Degree Preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH or equivalent advanced Administrative degree).
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
