Job Description:
The incumbent of this position is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and overall nursing operations of the healthcare facility. The duties include evaluating and directing nursing associates, establishing goals for the nursing department and creating and enforcing healthcare policies.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide oversight and supervision of nursing staff/nursing supervisors.
Maintain high standards of care for all patients.
Recruit, train and onboard new nursing staff.
Providing ongoing education classes to team members and other staff as needed.
Implement new clinical procedures and educate nurses on policies/procedures.
Present any proposed/new clinical processes/procedures to the quality management team.
Ensure compliance with all quality indicators identified by governing bodies.
Work collaboratively with team members to further the vision and mission of the healthcare facility.
Ensure the health center and staff provide an environment of care that supports the principles of patient and family centered care.
Ensure compliance with all infection control and environment of care regulations.
Assist in preparing for any internal or external reviews/audits.
Perform management responsibilities to include but are not limited to hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management, and staff productivity for the nursing staff.
Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
Advocate on behalf of nursing staff.
Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and providers.
Assess clinical competencies upon hire and annually.
Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed.
Provide oversight of patient care operations.
Manage nursing staff schedules and workloads
Complete reporting and auditing requirements in a timely manner.
Develop short and long term goals for the organization.
Identify trends and implement any changes to Nursing Best Practices
All other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurses.
Licensed as a RN in Missouri and Illinois.
Current licensure by the Missouri and Illinois State Boards of Nursing.
Two years of experience working in nursing supervision.
Applicant must be willing to become licensed in additional states, other than the state currently licensed in.
Supervisory Requirements:

Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.
Involve, as appropriate, all team members to achieve goals.
Effectively communicate to team members any changes and newsworthy events within the department or company.
Handle difficult team member situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice to show respect for the individual
Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.
Reinforces team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the company.
Employment Requirements:
Must provide evidence that incumbent is free of infectious and contagious disease, such as TB, prior to beginning employment and annually thereafter.
Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.
Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
Physical Requirements:
ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
