Shockwave Medical, Inc., recently acquired by Johnson Johnson, is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

Position Overview

This position will lead the Reducer Operations team to develop, implement and execute strategic plans for a lean manufacturing environment that assures a safe working environment while delivering the highest quality products. The entire Operations team, including Production, Supply Chain, Facilities, and Equipment, will report to this position.

Essential Job Functions

Develop and execute Operations strategies to meet corporate objectives.Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour, and equipment to meet targets.Manages all Operations resources to achieve and maintain targets.Ensures all operations are fully compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.Develops and execute annual Operations budget.Directs supports Supply Chain activities, including management of forecasts, planning, distribution, and customer order fulfillment of commercial product.Coaches, develops, and leads direct reports by providing developmental growth opportunities.Be an active leader and liaison for all safety related programs and initiatives.Work with Quality Managers on all product quality matters.Implement cost-saving improvement projects.Review inventory and labour balances; assist with year-end financial reporting.Optimize manufacturability of product through design for manufacturability, design layout, design of jigs and fixtures, and manufacturing procedures.Other related duties as required.

Lean Manufacturing certification, Greenbelt or Blackbelt asset. Must excel at delegating tasks and should demonstrate exceptional communication skills. Experience working within an ISO quality system preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead all areas of manufacturing in a fast-paced, medical device production plant. Minimum 5 years of management experience in manufacturing are required. Demonstrated ability to identify and execute cost savings projects. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a matrix organization. Ability to manage a complex budget and adhere to cost plans and annual plant initiatives. Strong analytical skills using tools such as statistics, downtime tracking, mechanical history, project planning to identify opportunity areas. Creative in problem solving and innovative approaches to resolve complex problems, and must have the ability to make decisions. Microsoft Office skills such as PowerPoint, Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to quickly come up to speed on complex production processes and work with others to identify opportunities areas via data. Strong ability to lead effectively and develop subordinates for advancement opportunities. Ability to partner with other departments to resolve complex problems and work jointly to find solutions. Knowledge of ERP/MRP software programs. Experience with Visual MFG considered an asset.

Additional Information:

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $146,000 to $251,850 annually.The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
