Director of Operations

The Director of Operations is responsible for overall management of operational areas, (Facilities and Maintenance) that support the programs and centers to operate efficiently and effectively by ensuring that the sites are safe and healthy environments meeting all Federal, State, and local licensing and health codes/regulations applicable to their type of use. In addition to the centers, the Director will be responsible for the transportation fleet, storage facilities, and administrative offices. This position reports to the Delegate Vice President and is a member of the leadership team.

Works in concert with Delegate Vice President to develop operational procedures, implement strategic initiatives and complete projects that impact both the local programs and the Company’s business objectives.

Serves on project teams, or in an advisory capacity, to support organizational initiatives.

Ensures compliance with Company, State and Federals standards, along with licensing requirements in conjunction with Compliance and Monitoring staff.

Supports Delegate Vice President in meeting all programs or company-wide goals.

Develops relevant scope of work plans for all anticipated projects including capital projects, develop and distribute RFPs evaluate same, contractor selection(s).

Produces for execution all contractor AIA contracts including prevailing wage requirements as needed.

Liaises with contractors to assure stated work is completed properly.

Maintains contracts for all utilities, communications, storage, cleaning services, and trash removal as required as per tenant obligations contained with individual lease(s).

Maintains building and grounds.

Ensures compliance with municipal ordinances, state licensing laws, and federal standards.

Oversees operation and compliance of fire and security systems for all centers.

Arranges for transportation contracts and school trips.

Maintains the transportation fleet, obtains insurance cards and vehicle registrations. Ensures motor vehicle inspections are conducted yearly and staff operating company vehicles are cleared by our insurance carrier at a minimum of twice annually.

Evaluates weather conditions and makes recommendations to the Delegate Vice President for delayed openings or school closings.

Manages purchasing of janitorial and building supplies.

Oversees the issuing of company supplies to personnel, while maintaining an inventory of equipment, laptops, cell phones, walkie-talkies etc.

Responds to all emergencies. Emergency Liaison with Municipal departments.

Coordinates in obtaining Food Handler permits, fire permits, and Board of Health permits together with food service staff. If applicable, arranges for well water testing and maintains records and chemicals for safe operation of well water.

Supplies Direct Support labor for all locations.

Negotiates competitive terms for property lease agreements for all property sites in the program.

Surveys new buildings and opportunities for business expansion.

Responsible for creating and monitoring the IT, Facility and Food Service annual budgets.

Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.

Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of three (5) years of previous supervisory experience or related work experience required with progressive roles.
3. Prior experience in multi-site project management required.
4. Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
5. Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and
functions.
6. Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
