What you will be doing
Direct and control Warehouse, Transportation, Maintenance, and Sanitation to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities workforce and equipment for the storage and distribution of product.
Responsible for maintaining excellent store service and working relationships with retail and division office personnel.
The position will be based in Melrose Park, IL.
Main responsibilities
Manages operational efficiencies in all the functional areas of the supply chain, to include Warehouse, Transportation and Facility Maintenance Utilizes new technology and processes available to maximize efficiencies Develops policies and procedures for distribution processes in order to ensure optimization and compliance with established standards and regulations Regularly collaborates with department managers and human resources to identify the development needs of associates and participates in succession planning for individual advancement Communicates with retail management regarding operational and service issues which impact stores Oversees customer credit claim activity and interfaces with the company customer service center Assesses direct and indirect labor needs; works with the Human Resource department to maintain appropriate staffing levels which meet the demands of the operation while maintaining budget commitments Participates in the preparation of annual capital equipment and distribution center operating budgets Reviews period reports to analyze operational costs and effectiveness; makes changes and adjustments as necessary in order to achieve budget commitments and facility goals Provides General Manager/Vice President operational updates and suggests ideas promoting continuous improvement in productivity, efficiency and operational effectiveness Consistently monitors areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with company policies and programs as well as various regulatory requirements of local, state and federal agencies Attends key operational meetings and represent the Company’s interests in negotiations with outside professionals and consultants Ensures safety programs are implemented and practicedA copy of the full job description can be made available to you.
What we are searching for
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or previous extensive experience overseeing all operational facets of a distribution facility 5-7 years’ experience managing multiple functions within supply chain operations required Possess thorough knowledge and experience in Supply Chain procedures to include buying, transportation, warehousing, accounting, etc. Possess a good working knowledge of retail food store operations Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships Possess good leadership skills and the ability to supervise the work of others. Must be able to motivate and work through others to achieve desired results Must have the ability to represent the Company’s interests in negotiations with outside professionals and consultants Possess good communication skills, both oral and written. Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone Prior experience with personal computer applications required. Includes, Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activitiesWhat is it like at Albertsons?
