Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Director of Operations is a key member of the site management team and a business partner for the VP/GM. Responsible for all operations-based activities from both an operational and strategic perspective. Supporting the short and long term goals, retention and development of improvement and achieving KPI’s while ensuring the right balance of the workforce with the needs of the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Plans, develops, and establishes policies and objectives of business organization in accordance with VP/General Manager directives and corporate initiatives by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.Acts as liaison between department managements/subordinate levels as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results. TT Electronics is set up in a matrix organization, so communicating and collaborating with peers across the organization is required.Assists senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives.Plans, develops, & implements a strategy for all operations to meet organizational performance plans within agreed budgets & timescales.Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs based upon LEAN principles that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.Initiates and coordinates major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, automation, etc.) to meet performance and long-term strategic goals.Develops the supply chain strategy, material planning process and production planning methodologies to create an environment of optimized inventories and costs.Supports SIOP processes to improve strategic planning of inventory, utilization of factory resources, and drive integrated executive alignment to improve customer satisfaction, market share, and profit.Achieves optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.Drives a culture of positive employee engagement and performs all HR related activities for direct reports including but not limited to: hiring, performance management, training, team development, coaching, & recognition. Partners with HR as necessaryActs as the key sponsor representing all aspects of operations in the delivery of best-in-class service to our customers. Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations or related field, or equivalent experience.Ability to think strategically, understand complex business/financial data, and develop operational plans and organizational structures. Must possess a working knowledge of business finance and ability to link financial outcomes with operational actions and business strategy.Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate progressive change.Five or more years of related experience in technical product manufacturing (aerospace, medical, etc.).This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
