Director of Operations (Setra)

The Director of Operations will provide leadership, direction and hands-on involvement while managing personnel and processes involved in areas of responsibility. This position is also responsible for driving the continuous improvement of our processes and systems in support of strategic initiatives and policy deployment objectives. The Director of Operations is responsible for leading the day-to-day operating activities along with production capacity planning, capital project justification, risk analysis, and support for new product/process introductions.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Oversees all site daily operations including manufacturing, environment health and safety, materials, and facilities. Set vision, develop, and execute strategies to meet and exceed safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. Translate strategic policy deployment priorities into operational reality by aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing KPI measurement. Support leadership team in creating & executing strategic breakthrough objectives, KPI’s and action plans. Responsible for coordinating monthly site level PSI forecasting process and achieving revenue targets. Meet and exceed 95% on-time delivery to customer request. Coordinate and lead daily management to problem solve production KPIs (+QDIP). Optimize operational efficiency through commitment and building a culture of continuous improvement. Utilize Fortive Business System (FBS) tools and champion continuous improvement initiatives in quality, delivery, and cost. Create an environment that inspires and motivates employees in achieving business goals and objectives, and for continuous improvement through best-in-class engagement metrics. Optimize inventory positions to support sales growth and drive world class inventory turns. Develop, deploy, and execute site operating and expense budgets. Attract, develop, and retain qualified, talented people, creating and sustaining a high-performance culture and plan for succession. Champion new product introduction (NPI) and custom special launch to manufacturing process to ensure manufacturability to deliver high quality products on-time. Develop and execute annual capital equipment plan. Enhance performance of assigned employees, completing appraisals and recommending promotions, salary increases or performance improvement plans. Ensure site compliance. Accountable for development and management of required compliance procedures and training. May be assigned additional projects and responsibilities at the sole discretion of the manager.

Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree, manufacturing management, engineering, supply chain management, related field, or equivalent.  An advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a lean manufacturing setting, with at least 5 years in a managerial role Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite skills Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment Exceptional communication skills for varying levels of personnel Exceptional project management skills Demonstrated track record of achieving results through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Strong analytical and decision-making skills

Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas. The associate must also be willing and able to travel by all forms of transportation.
