Overview Director of Palliative Care Services Farmingdale, NY (Onsite) Good Shepherd Hospice, a member of Catholic Health, promotes the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being both of the person completing life's journey and their family members, providing comprehensive and compassionate Palliative and end-of-life care of the highest quality. Good Shepherd helps patients and their families live each day fully, focusing on quality of life, control of symptoms and the things that matter to them the most. Our team of professionals, caregivers and trained volunteers are dedicated to providing both medical and emotional support to patients and families. We currently employ more than 250 staff members and have a volunteer core of over 100 dedicated people. Job Details Good Shepherd Hospice is seeking a dynamic Director of Palliative Care Services for our expanding Palliative Care program. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this key leadership position will be responsible for providing operational leadership for all Palliative Care Services and providing clinical leadership and expertise within the Palliative Care clinical team. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The development of strategic initiatives/goals related to Hospice, patient experience and all interdisciplinary services to improve clinical and key performance initiatives. Provides leadership to the Palliative Care programs within Catholic Health, supporting both inpatient and home-based symptom management. Develops partnerships with hospital leadership to enhance Palliative Care program’s community outreach to physicians, the public, healthcare facilities and other applicable organizations in the community. Assures the clinical protocols, utilization review, case management, quality assurance and compliance programs are implemented according to each hospital policy. Oversight of program budget, review of performance measures and use of staff resources proportional to activity and patient care. Regular review of financial and operational impact of palliative care program on the hospital, and production of summaries for leadership review. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current and valid NY State license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner with Board Certification. Unrestricted Federal DEA registration and current BLS. Minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience, with at least 2 years in Palliative Care, Hospice, or Oncology. Thorough understanding of Palliative Care concepts, philosophy, policies and procedures. Salary Range USD $150,000.00 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job, and it does not include the value of benefits.
