**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Patient Safety Director is responsible for facilitating the transition from a retrospective, reactive model for risk management to a prospective, proactive loss prevention, harm reducing patient safety program. Promotes a culture of safety. Directs others within the facility towards process improvements that support the elimination of medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Initiates and oversees the development of a comprehensive patient safety improvement program inclusive of the analysis and trending of data. This position demonstrates a high degree of responsibility, accountability and autonomy.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or related field Required
+ Master’s Degree Preferred
+ 3 years experience in a position dedicated to either Patient Safety, Risk, or Quality clinical education experience responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of clinical education programs Required
+ 3 years bedside nursing experience in acute care setting Preferred
+ Previous management experience Preferred
+ RN with current Florida licensure Required
+ Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) Required
+ If not already CPPS, must complete the following: CPPS Examination must be taken within 90 days of hire, CPPS Certification must be achieved within 12 months from date of hire
+ CPHRM Required
+ If not already CPHRM, must complete the following: CPHRM Examination must be taken within 90 days of hire, CPHRM Certification must be achieved within 12 months from date of hire
Founded in 1974, HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital is a 317-bed acute care hospital. We offer a wide range of surgical and medical services. We have distinguished ourselves as a pioneer in breakthroughs in orthopedic care as well as joint replacement. We continue to build on this tradition in our Orthopedic and Spine Institute. Our Center for Behavioral Health offers inpatient child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric services. Our outpatient services include a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and a 24-hour behavioral health support hotline. We are a certified Baker Act Receiving Facility. Our Hospital is licensed by Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration. We are certified by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. We offer comprehensive diagnostic services that are accredited in multiple modalities. This includes pediatric CT imaging by the American College of Radiology.
