Director of Pharmacy
+ Mission + To inspire health and healing by putting patients first - ALWAYS. + Position Summary + The Department Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Pharmacy Department. Manages all activities related to Pharmacy Services for both inpatient and outpatient areas. Performs all aspects of managing, planning, coordinating, implementing processes in the facility to improve patient safety and daily operation of the department. The Department Director is responsible for departmental leadership, quality management, staff development, customer satisfaction and appropriate utilization of resources within the framework of established policies and procedures of Great Plains Regional Medical Center (GPRMC). + Minimum Qualifications + Education + Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy. Minimum: BS Degree required which is required and verified by the state licensing group and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy prior to issuing a license. + Credentials + State Required: Must be licensed by state of Nebraska as a Registered Pharmacist (RP) to perform dispensing/clinical activities. + GPRMC Required/Preferred: License to practice Pharmacy required. Must be licensed by state of Nebraska as an RP if performing dispensing or clinical activities required. + Physical Demands + Frequent walking/standing—worker is on his/her feet the majority of the day to perform direct or indirect duties. + Must have the skills and ability to bend/stoop, lift/carry, push/pull, balance, must have handling and manual dexterity, and must be able to speak/hear/see to perform the job. + Essential Functions + Collaborates effectively with others by participating in hospital committees, attending mandatory meetings, and by submitting requested information in a timely manner. + Responsible for improving customer service scores. + Manages department in accordance with approved operating margin and other key financial indicators. + Meets budgeted productivity standards. + Manages department turnover. + Effectively coaches and counsels employees. + Creates a vision and develops a strategy to meet the needs of medical community and region. + Ensures federal and state licensure is enforced and the organization is compliant with required regulations including guidelines hospital has voluntarily made a choice to participate in. + Manages human resources of area of responsibility ensuring appropriate staffing, scheduling, payroll functions, record keeping, personnel action performance review, ongoing training, staff education and patient confidentiality. + Develops department scorecards with key quality indicators and creates a process to address those indicators whose scores do not meet the agreed upon targets. + Overall Essential Functions , Performance and Goals Rating + Overall Performance Rating
