Director of Philanthropy Council: Girl Scouts Of Greater Los Angeles Job Location: CA - Los Angeles Salary Range: $100,000 - $136,000 (Annually) Employment Type: Full-Time (Regular) Job #: 8422 Post Date: 1/23/2025 Job Summary The Director of Philanthropy is a member of the Senior Management Team and is responsible for developing, managing, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of the organization’s fund development strategy and plan. The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for overseeing the solicitation of individuals, foundations, and corporate donors. The Director of Philanthropy spends time personally soliciting donors and as such must have strong relationship building and solicitation skills. The Director of Philanthropy currently reports to the Chief Executive Officer and supervises the Fund Development Team of five. Job Qualifications Successful cultivation and solicitation of major gifts, and a demonstrated working knowledge of all areas of fundraising. Persuasive writing, strong verbal communication and the ability to interact at the executive level are required, including solicitation and negotiation. Excellent presentation skills, ability to pitch individuals, foundations, and groups of prospects. Charismatic presence with transparent style of communication that builds confidence and trust in donor relationships. Demonstrated knowledge of proven fundraising principles and best practices. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and persuasively with all levels of the organization, including volunteer leadership, senior management and staff. High degree of organizational, analytical, and project management skills; ability to anticipate risks, set and achieve goals and a creative approach to problem solving. Strong inter-personal skills, motivational ability to foster collaborative teamwork, demonstrated tact and diplomacy in difficult or sensitive situations and the ability to perform under pressure in a rapidly changing and multidimensional environment.
