Director of Player Development (Staff Wage)

The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Director of Player Development to support the Women’s Softball program.

This position exists to provide a high level of operational and logistical support to the Women’s Softball program and to assist in achieving a nationally recognized program, both on and off the field, in a manner that meets all guidelines set by the University of Virginia, the ACC, and the NCAA.

The Director of Player Development, Softball will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to:

Coordinate all aspects of film managementAssist with scouting opponentsManage and analyze data to support decision makingSupport operational and game day needsPerform other duties as assigned that support or add value to, the goals and objectives of the program. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to be flexible in terms of work schedule to accommodate the gameday and events schedule.Ability to prepare spreadsheets, provide information and perform operational functions.Ability to communicate accurately and in an effective manner - spoken and written.Ability to develop good working relationships with all internal and external constituencies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree required. 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience; Some working knowledge of the sport program to be supported
Licensure: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
