Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering from an accredited Institution. Minimum 10 years previous work experience in Procurement, with 5 years in a senior leadership position. Ability to travel up to 25% both locally, within the US and globally. Weekend travel and work and participation in conference calls and meetings during late night/early morning hours may be required occasionally. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Salary Range: $140,000 - $225,000
The Director of Procurement is responsible for the procurement and management of material spend to support the production of alloy, formed rings, and support plants for the Howmet Rings & Alloy Group across 8 Locations in 3 countries. The position provides leadership in supply, cost and cash flow and develops and implements the sourcing strategies for Raw Material, Machined Components, 3rd Party Outside Processing, MRO and associated Services, Lubricants, and Energy. The Director of Procurement will be involved in multiple areas of the business, including: site support with critical materials, supplier management and long-term agreements as well as cost improvement activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide Procurement Leadership across 8 sites in 3 countries. Align approach with Rings leadership. Drive alignment and engagement with key customers and stakeholders in the business – Plant Managers, Operations/Facilities and Commercial organization. Lead a matrix organization that is aligned by Plant Buyers and Category Managers across Rings. Establish multi-year agreements across categories including Raw Material, Outside Processing, and Indirect Materials including MRO supplies. Manage diverse commodities including elementals used in alloy production of nickel based super alloys, finished alloy billet, titanium, machined products for aerospace. Establish and achieve material cost reduction targets, cash flow improvement, and supply improvements (on a year over year basis). Manage supply chain risk through intelligence and information gathering, analysis, and mitigating actions to eliminate risks including cybersecurity, geopolitical, economic, and legislative/government policies. Support Site Procurement Teams and work directly with location leadership to ensure alignment of goals covering supply, product profitability, cash flow, plant projects, and production volumes. Achieve optimal inventories through the implementation and execution of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, additional consignment, consolidation of supply with Howmet Logistics (HLS), and further supply consolidation with key MRO partners. Drive supplier operational performance through the implementation of KPIs, for on time delivery, quality, and inventory. Work with Finance and Sales on the development of the annual business plan providing a forward projection of material spend, inflation, and cost savings in support of Revenue and Profit commitments. Work with Commercial Teams as needed to ensure that key supplier contracts, particularly raw materials and elementals, align with commercial programs as applicable and are aligned with the term of the customer agreements. Ensure regular scorecard reviews are held with key suppliers. Communicate, collaborate, and present regularly to senior leadership the progress, status, and results of key areas of responsibility with the focus on continuous improvement.
