Director of Production

XBOX is looking for a Director of Production to join a game development team. In this role, you will lead project production to deliver a successful game title.
As a Director of Production, you will work on a team of other experienced Production and Development leaders. Collectively, you will be responsible for steering a project, project leadership team, and the game development team to deliver highly polished game experience by ensuring the team has the clarity, process, and structure needed to be successful. Individually, you will drive project production hands on, overseeing the game pipeline, metrics, and methodology, delivering the tactical production leadership the game development team needs to in turn deliver a successful, high quality game experience.
Additionally, you will partner with key stakeholders to inform and, where needed, execute the short term and long-term production strategy, including developing and maintaining indicators and success metrics, leveraging data to iterate on methodology, optimize production roadmaps, and the provide the leadership to the development team to deliver against the highest quality bar AAA game experience.
Where applicable, you will serve as product expert, representing the project vision and work-in-progress updates to key stakeholders, ensuring all parties are aligned on the path forward. You will build excitement internally and externally around our product vision, championing the vision of the game and representing the game with pride.
Core hours are based on Pacific Time but is fully remote. Position may require occasional domestic and international travel.

**Responsibilities**
+ Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of a high-quality product.
+ Uphold high standards, proactively identify risks, and ensure steady project progress. Champion project pillars and quality targets.
+ Develop and implement streamlined production processes across teams and disciplines, managing milestones, deadlines, budgets, and resources as necessary.
+ Foster strong collaboration and communication with department heads (Art, Design, Engineering, etc.) throughout the development lifecycle.
+ Drive clarity, coordination, and problem-solving within leadership to achieve project goals, escalating and resolving issues, and refining production methods based on metrics and feedback.
+ Oversee risk management to mitigate potential project delays and technical issues.
+ Manage internal and external relationships to align with project vision and quality standards. Advocate for the project and team across partnerships.
+ Cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability within the development team.
+ Lead team meetings and events, such as All Hands meetings and onsite events, to maintain engagement and project momentum.
+ Oversee UT testing, conduct project reviews, monitor development indicators, and communicate progress to all stakeholders. Prepare progress reports for key stakeholders.
+ Coordinate with Testing, Marketing, User Research, Localization, Business Development, Licensing, Legal, and other necessary teams.
+ Represent the product and brand at external events when required.
+ Provide leadership, mentorship, and management as needed.

**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in production roles in gaming or entertainment industry, or other multidisciplinary leadership
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ Experience in full development of at least one major product release.
+ 3+ years experience in managing budget for large production projects (e.g., several hundred thousand dollars or more).
+ 3+ years experience managing relationships with stakeholders, clients, and/or customers.
+ 3+ years people management experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 12+ years in game development leadership.
+ 2+ years as an Executive Producer, Head of Production, Director of Production, or comparable title.
+ Experience leading large, complex productions across multiple studios.
+ Expertise in all phases of game development.
+ Demonstrated people management and team-building experience.
+ Experience with outsourcing and co-development partnerships.
+ International development experience.
+ Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and project management tools (e.g., Jira).
+ Financial planning and management experience.
+ Contract negotiation and resource management expertise.
Game Producers M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
