The Director of Purchasing and Materials" is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Multisorb’s purchasing activities, including sourcing new suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and optimizing inventory levels to achieve cost-effective procurement strategies, while maintaining quality standards and compliance with company policies. The person in this role leads the entire purchasing department to acquire necessary materials and services at the best possible price and value for the organization.

Working with both internal and external customers to develop innovative solutions which meet company-wide needs and objectivesKeeping abreast of materials, markets and materials pricing trends that affect Company products as well as legal matters that affect purchasing policiesDeveloping policies and assuring compliance in all aspects of export and import duties and tariffs, regulations, as well as Department of Transportation and other laws regarding the transportation of materials Qualifications Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related fieldAt least 10 years of experience in purchasing and procurement, ideally with five years in a leadership roleCertification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferredStrong experience with international procurement regulations and practicesStrong negotiation and contract management skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in procurement software and systems; Infor XA is a plusStrong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams Strong understanding of LEAN manufacturing principlesAbility to mentor and lead peers and reportsExperience of managing material changes in pharma/ food marketsExcellent time management, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a fast moving and changing environmentProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Foreign language skills are a plus. Physical DemandsThis role primarily involves sedentary work, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally to access files or office equipment, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office machinery; may need to lift and carry light items up to 10 pounds occasionally. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the building to access other offices, meeting rooms, and equipment in the facility. The person in this position frequently communicates with vendors, and co-workers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
