GENERAL PURPOSE

The Director of Quality will be responsible for implementing the quality program for all operations and product within the given region.  This position will provide governance over the quality standards, assurance protocols and performance measures while assuring that customer requirements and product specifications are met for its supporting sites and products.  In addition, the role will provide leadership, communication, and coordination to ensure that the operations are held accountable for the quality of products and maintaining an excellent reputation with our customers by ensuring that all products are delivered with the highest possible defect free quality.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ensures quality across given region and tracks customer quality KPI progress and plans  Develops regional plans and objectives that align with strategic plans of the corporate quality team.Analyzes data and disseminates trends to enable Root Cause Analysis and identify process improvement opportunitiesLead and manage the response to customer product issues within regionParticipates in customer sales visits and installation audits to drive improvement where applicableManage and maintain the implementation of corporate quality tools and systems for given regionCoordinates with various internal teams to drive actionsLeads, coaches, and mentors assigned teams and individualsMaintains quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and developing employees.Ensure there are clear standards in place for product quality assessments and team members are skilled to judgeWorks closely with operations leadership to achieve a customer-first quality culture with built-in quality principlesEnsures regional Quality Systems Management compliance.  Collaborate in the implementation of continuous improvement tools in order to improve processes. Ensure all product is consistently manufactured to company quality standards and that all regional operating procedures are complete, accurate, and conform to ISO9001Participates in the vision-setting and strategic objective planning for the quality organizationAchieve exceptional levels of associate engagement through regular and open communication, two-way feedback at all levels, and an environment where issues can be openly raised and positively received at all levels of leadership. Ensure consistent and high-level associate experience is achieved across the allocated facilitiesDevelop and manage a strong team who is customer focused and able to work within both local legal requirements and MillerKnoll company culture.Work effectively with supporting operational leadership and corporate quality teams to deliver the overall functional goalsPerforms additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience

 Bachelor's Degree preferably in a technical discipline. Significant operational experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

 Minimum of 7 years experience within quality function

 Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience

 Working knowledge of quality system processes (current examples include ISO9001, PPAP, etc)

Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated success in creating and maintaining a culture of quality in a team environment

Proven history of managing quality requirements

Knowledgeable and experienced in performing internal and external quality audits.

Knowledgeable and experienced in planning, coordinating, and leading QMS management reviews.

Create and communicate an overall vision for quality within the company, setting goals and recommending organizational changes to achieve these goals.

Create an environment conducive to continuous quality improvement and implement systems to nurture quality excellence.

Proven history of successfully driving key projects and ability to execute tactically.

Proven leadership ability with a prominent level of integrity, and the willingness to accept responsibility and make decisions for expedient problem resolution.

Successful experience with change management principles and demonstrated ability to implement and follow-thru

Strong relationship and consensus building skills necessary to manage projects in a complex supply chain environment.

Demonstrated expert communication skills, e.g. verbal, written, interpersonal and ability to apply skills to influence activities and decisions.

Demonstrated excellent coaching, mentoring, and people development skills.

Flexible and able to travel – both within the USA and globally up to 30% of the time.
