Are you ready to lead, innovate, and drive growth in the radioactive waste management industry? We’re seeking a RAD General Manager to oversee the profitability and expansion of our Radioactive Line of Business (LOB). In this pivotal role, you’ll report directly to the VP of Technical Services and hold full P&L responsibility for our Albuquerque, NM subsidiary.


As a key leader, you’ll manage a RAD Service Operations Manager, a team of RAD Technicians, and a RAD Field Services Supervisor. This position blends operations management with business development, requiring close collaboration with Sales Teams to explore new opportunities in the radioactive space and ongoing coordination with Technical and Operations Managers across the business.


While this role offers flexibility to be based anywhere in the U.S., you must be willing to travel 50%—visiting our Albuquerque site and customer locations nationwide to scope and oversee radioactive field projects.

Key Job Responsibilities Operational Excellence: Manage radioactive recycling and processing activities, focusing on improving efficiencies and business margins.  

 

Technical Expertise: Perform and supervise technical fieldwork and manage fieldwork crew and provide consulting services in relation to radioactive waste to clients across the United States 

 

Team Leadership: Mentor and guide facility managers, fostering collaboration, respect, and professional development. 

 

Performance Tracking: Analyze performance metrics, address recurring challenges, and minimize risks. 

 

Business Development: Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities. Conduct site visits, assessments, and radiation surveys to understand and address client needs. Aid in the preparation and completion of requests for bids and proposals 

 

Customer Relationships: Strengthen partnerships with customers by ensuring superior service, resolving concerns, and supporting sales teams.  

 

Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of Radioactive LOB, ensuring profitability and growth 

 

People Development: Conduct performance reviews, recommend training, and develop your team to align with company objectives. 

 

Lead with Safety First: Build and uphold a strong culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) as a cornerstone of all operations. 

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Health Physics, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in radiological materials management (RSO experience preferred). Strong fieldwork experience, including expertise with radiometric measuring devices. Exceptional communication and presentation skills with a focus on driving results. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment. Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the United States. Why Join Us?
